"You would be better off living anywhere else. Horribly unsafe and they don’t care. People breaking down fences and dumpster diving constantly. Apartments being broken into regularly (a staff member of the complex told me that on average there are 4 apartment break-ins a month!), domestic disturbances happening all the time. Once we couldn’t park near our building because it was blocked by 7 police cars who were called and we were informed that there was a “scalping”!!! As you walk past the “resort style pools” that are unusable and green for months at a time, you can expect to smell the strong scent of weed that is throughout the property. In the 5 years that I lived there, there were vehicles that never moved and were a permanent addition to the parking lot. To top it all off, the staff tried to illegally force us into a longer lease than what was originally agreed on. When I contacted the police they told me they “knew all about that complex”. Unless you’re a criminal or don’t value your safety, stay as far away from this place as you can!"
"Where to begin… my husband and I lived at these apartments for a little over 5 years and moved out early January. You do not want to rent here no matter what kind of deal you may think you are getting. 5 years ago, yes, rent here. It was a great, safe community. Now, I would not recommend for anyone who values their possessions and wants to feel safe. These are a few things that happened in our final months of living at Solara. First of all, the fences are constantly being broken by homeless people and dumpster divers are almost always on the property at night. Forget about the gate, it works maybe 2 days a year. On multiple occasions, people’s tires disappear, catalytic converters, sound systems and other items out of their car. When walking my dog at night, I have been followed and had to call my husband to meet me. Power and or water may be shut off at anytime sometimes with warning but mostly without. People have their dogs off leash in the community and I’ve almost been attacked. Pieces of buildings are falling off, when my husband notified the office about part of the siding above an elderly woman’s door falling off, the staff said it wasn’t an issue. There are tons of roaches all over the property and eventually will find ways into your home. Maintenance will come in a timely manner, however, they will stay in your home for hours after fixing the issue talking to you about their life, how they were a felon, and use offensive slurs making you feel more uncomfortable. The best part is someone forged my signature and extended our lease. After months of battling this issue, they finally let us out of our original lease because I notified the police and SA Financial Crimes Unit. And now, months after moving out, we still haven’t received our security deposit back. Several emails have been sent about the matter and no response. Legally in the state of Texas, they should have sent the deposit within 30 days of move out. It’s been almost two full months."
"This is a joke of a place. My son (16 yr. Old) has been stared down at and followed by a 30 yr old maintenance man (Robert), On 2/22 this man took it upon his self to follow my son in his vehicle to little ceasers and proceed to start yelling and and cursing at my son and his friends about breaking a fence (that has been broken for months, which is in my previous issues. Fortunately a good person stood up for my son and told the maintenance person to leave. When I called the office they brushed it off and said the maintenance person was probably having a bad day. NO One should ever feel stalked or harassed, especially where they live. This maintenance person had been told by my son which apartment number he lived in and that’s when this man (Robert) should’ve gone to speak to me (the parent). Here is a picture of the gate that’s been broken for about a year, of the police report filed against this person that clearly has anger issues, And of other gates other tenants have reported. 3-3-2024 Picture taken today of this maintenance person sitting outside of my apartment in his personal vehicle just staring and watching my family and I get down from our vehicle, when I told the office staff all they said was maybe he was sitting near where maintenance storage which was nowhere near my apt, it seems like this apartment complex has a lot of excuses to make for stalkers. The new assistant manager Ashley is by far of the rudest person I have ever encountered when renting a property. Tenants and future tenants beware of your safety and customer Service will not be the same after you are tied down to a lease in this apartment complex."
"I moved in 2 1/2 months ago and the repairs from my move-in has still not been addressed. I have been to the office three times regarding these issues and they still not have been taken care of. My toilet is not even bolted to the floor, my washer doesn’t have cold water, the Washer and dryer are not level, The dishwasher is full of paint from painting materials made run as the dishwasher, The doors need weather proofing . You can see sunlight through all of the doors as well as cold air coming through, The rear entrance door is not finished and is missing boards to the frame of the door. No light in the refrigerator. My heating unit looks very dangerous with exposed wires, tape around the unit and my biggest concern is two out of the three entrance and exit gates are chained, which is a major safety concern!"
"If you can, try NOT to rent from here Lived here 3 years, and they have raised the new base rent for my unit $400 since then without improving anything in/outside the apt. (That's just base pay! Don't forget the other $250 they add for misc. -- explained below) If the ridiculous price hike isn't enough, here are other issues we've encountered during our time at Solara which should make you think twice about spending your hard-earned money here: Community Internet (You can NOT opt out): For +$80/mo you will get "
