Madera Apartments

"I do not recommend living here. Please don’t live here. They have a monthly pest control fee and they never come and spray anything. I’ve had to spend over $100 removing pests from my apartment. The staff is very rude and are not respectful unless you are with a parent or adult with you. Even if you are an adult yourself. They do not communicate when they are coming to your apartment for inspections or maintenance. They tried to forcibly enter my house when they realized my top lock was locked ( I was in an important interview). Instead of coming back later they banged on my door and tried to break the lock. Usually management gives you a 24 hr notice before entering, they give you NO notice. The maintenance are friendly but overworked and are unable to respond to calls efficiently . My house and couch was dirty and the cushions were flat when I got here, I’ve been here a year and a half and they still didn’t replace my couch. Overall if you’re looking for a quality apartment this is not the place. Also my car and several friends cars was broken into. The apartments have gates but they do not work so anyone can come in without being a resident. They told me to call the police and make a report and never followed up. Overall this place is unsafe , overpriced and the staff is incompetent."

"Lived here from 21-23. Really had no problems within the unit but was almost never able to find parking. Had no problems upon moving out, was told I owed nothing and even called a few months later and was still told there was nothing I owe. I now have fees with collections which is impacting my credit score and just really frustrating to deal with."

"Awful experience at Madera, I lived here 22-23 and from moving in it difficult. They lost my application and after many calls and saying they were working on it, after a month was I able to get a straight answer that they had lost my application. The units were also not inspected or cleaned before move in, so this delayed the move in process. The apartments have many issues with appliances and although you will be changed for an in-unit washer and dryer they do not work. Maintenance is very busy and it will be a while before they are able to get to your request. I had my vehicle broken into in the apartment, and although advertised as a gated community, the gates were non operable and frequently broke down. During the time my vehicle was being repaired, I got a rental vehicle and they made me pay for visitor parking which is away from the building where my car was broken into. Moving out there were no issues, and I was told I owned no balances. I received a notice stating I would receive a "refund check will be mailed from our corporate office", and the ledger does not itemize any charges only says additional charges / credits / payments. I now have an account in collections, which is very frustrating when I could have payed this right away, and not have it impact my credit if I was given the right information. All apartments have issues, but please consider this when looking for apartments."

"My experience with Madera was okay (largely because I had amazing roommates). For my building, I did not have issues finding parking and the road noise was not noticeable since I was near the back of the property. I was on the first floor and unfortunately, the people above me threw late-night parties. Unlike the apartment I’m at right now, Madera doesn’t have any services available to keep this from happening. Also, the smell of weed was something I had no choice but to get used to. My apartment was not in great condition upon move-in (see pictures) and the apartment gym was VERY disappointing. I also hated that guests had to pay for parking. Toward the end of my lease, the information on my bills became really confusing. A bunch of unexplained fees and dual charges showed up on my last couple of statements. When I called the office to ask about it, the workers told me to email the leasing managers. I've sent multiple and it's been over a month with no reply... I hope I get my deposit back but I doubt I will."
