"In 2020, we used University Rentals to facilitate the rental of our first home. Everything started off great with communications, but once we signed, things took a quick turn. After they handed us the keys, we started moving into our new place when we noticed a gas leak, which fortunately we had noticed before it could cause us any harm. When they came to repair the leak, they were unable to turn on the gas because the water heater was not up to code; which it was clear they were already aware of beforehand. This came as a big frustration to us as we were dealing with many other things, and we never felt like their priority. Soon after moving in, our place was broken into not once, but twice. While we wrote off the initial occurrence as bad luck, I decided it was important for the safety of my family to move at this point. While knowing of these incidents, University Rentals would not allow us the opportunity to expedite the cancellation of our lease. For our safety, we gave our 1-months notice and we paid for the extra month and moved out. At this point we were upset, but we were prepared to live with the situation and leave it behind us. Soon after, we were contacted about our deposit and how we’d only receive $75 of our $540 for cleaning & maintenance. At this point, we were truly upset. If there was one issue, we would have been fine with it… but to be consistently treated with disrespect, it just does not feel right. We left a voicemail at this point to request a itemized breakdown of how this money would be spent, and we have yet to hear back. They likely will not respond, but we decided more important than that, we want to share our experience to save others from potential headaches. We would have been loyal tenants if not for the poor experience. Since our move, we’ve had great experiences with other local companies, so we truly believe this is the worst rental company in the Lubbock area. To add to that I posted photos of how I left the house. The bathroom shower has black stans due to them using wood."

"Since day one university rentals has been an amazing rental company .they have always been prompt with fixing what is needed to be fixed . I recently just this week has a gas leak and Mr joe and victor were so great in fixing my leak in a great timely manner. Victor kept communication with me during the whole time and they went above and beyond in fixing the leak . Thank you guys for the hard work and y’all have a renter that will stay with y’all for a long time . I highly recommend university rentals for your next home"

"Melissa at University is amazing. She is quick and timely for anything I need. I have had to get a few maintenance repairs done. I wish they were as fast as Melissa. But I understand they use contractors and do not have much control over that. Over all the company has been helpful in resolving my issues. And providing a good home for me and my family."
