"I was traveling with my grandchildren from Midland to El Paso. My grandson began throwing up like 10 times. I was trying desperately to get to El Paso where they have large hospitals. My grandson was getting worse by the minute. I got of the I 10 interstate at Van Horn and followed the blue hospital sign. I was on the phone with my husband as I was pulling up to this little hospital literally located in the middle of no where. My husband actually suggested I keep driving. I’m so glad I stopped. The staff at this hospital was absolutely wonderful. The professionalism was outstanding. From the lady at the er sign in to the nurses and doctor, everyone was amazing. This little hospital in the desert was a blessing for me and my family. My grandson was treated, cared for and we were back on the road within an hour. Apparently he had a stomach bug, was given meds and slept the rest of the way to El Paso.THANK YOU Culbertson County, Van Horn Tx hospital. You are the best! Visit date: July 13, 2022"

"Rude staff. My sister has been sick for weeks but doesn't have insurance. She couldn't go to the clinic without money in the tiny town of Van Horn. She went to the hospital instead and was asked why she went to the ER instead of the clinic. She's been sick for a month! She was told by the nurse "wait until you get this bill." Are you serious? Nurses aren't supposed to be involved with the money side. You take care of the patient. I've worked 3 years at an ER. The nurse is supposed to treat a patient regardless of income. The only reason to come to this place is if you're dying in Sierra Blanca or Van Horn. Such shameful staff."

"Had to stop here with an emergency with my daughter last night. Was blown away at how professional and great all of the staff, RN's and NP was that took care of her. They got her right in, everyone was very nice and really cared! Such relief during a tough time!"

"Wow, absolutely love the amazing medical staff in the ER who took fabulous care of me quickly and efficiently. Impeccable service, I felt like a dignitary-BRAVO!!! I cannot praise these medical professionals enough. My issue? On 2/22/22, got out of our RAM truck in my flip flops onto uneven pavement at a truck stop. Heard a crack in my foot and fell, even my toe was bleeding. Although we iced my foot immediately, I couldn’t stand on it and it started swelling rapidly. We were on a road trip passing through Texas, staying over in Van Horn. Decided I should seek medical services. Happily found the little town had a Hospital and ER. Accustomed to metropolitan hospitals and ERs where you wait hours. My experience? Well, this rural ER is extremely well staffed with exceptional and competent medical providers. Immediately took me to a room, gathered my information and medical history, questioned my status on a tetanus shot (definitely haven’t had one in over 10-years). So, I got a tetanus vaccine and then they brought in a portable X-ray machine. All completed so efficiently in about an hour, like clockwork. Gave me a disk with my X-rays. Results? No fracture but could still be something like a soft tissue injury so need to follow up with my doctor. They disinfected my injured toe, provided me with a “shoe”, crutches and ice pack. I am so appreciative. Definitely highly recommend this ER if you accidentally get injured. Comment to Culberson’s ER Staff: Many THANKS and BLESSINGS to each of you who attended to me.
