"To start, multiple night stays are not our norm. We usually get in late and head out the next morning. I know that this hotel is different, though. Below are some staff that made the stay special. The staff was great! Mike at the front desk was very helpful during our whole stay, going above and beyond. Ray in the kitchen seems to really enjoy serving guests and took time to ensure we enjoyed breakfast with everything we needed. The pool was in great shape, even warm in February! Will in maintenance saved me so much headache when he helped me find a solution to a vehicle issue. The staff are top-notch and the best hotel staff with whom we've done business in ages. Thank you all!"
"This is our second time at this hotel in 3 months. My mom-dad - wife and son all love the rooms. They give a fantastic breakfast and the staff is very nice. Our room had a refrigerator microwave and a nice tub. Beds are comfortable. The absolute highlight hands down is this pool!! It’s taken care of wonderfully. Clean and always warm in the winter. Hot tub is a great way to begin or end the day with a warm dip!! I’ve stayed in lots of hotels but we will be back to this one for a third round, cause I know that pool is pristine. Thank you Comfort Inn Alamo!!!! Best Eddie"
"Great experience! You get free continental breakfast in the morning, the rooms are very spicy the only down side is the walls are kinda peeling off ( just vanity) The rooms were so cozy and spacious! Not to mention you are literally a hop and skip away from down town San Antonio so the location is great! Service was also helpful."
"First day: As soon as we checked-in the nice lady in the front charged us for parking that we had already paid for and said we could park anywhere and that they had security watching the parking lot but we never saw security during our stay. When we got to the room the keys didn't work and had to go back downstairs and wait another 15 minutes for new keys. Later that night, I went downstairs with my sister to ask for sheets for the sofa bed and we also asked for a pillow and a blanket, there was a different lady and she only gave us sheets and a small blanket and said she didn't have pillows. I asked if I could get an extra blanket and she just said NO, didn't bother to ask me if I was in different room. The blanket she gave us had many holes and the sofa bed mattress was very thin and ripped. Another mattress had a large brown stain, the blankets/sheets/pillows were all different shades of yellow. The second day, I tried again for a blanket and this time there was a guy and he said we already had blankets so he couldn't give us anything. My sister asked for shampoo/conditioner because there isn't any in the rooms and the bottles were so tiny you would think they're toys but that's our fault because usually carry our own but this time we underestimated. The carpets and rooms are very old and dusty and the doors don't shut all the way by themselves, make sure to push it until it latches. Breakfast: when we got downstairs the lights were off and a worker came out of the kitchen saying to a customer "alright, that's it we gotta go home", we were only there for coffee but we saw other peoples reactions. Check-out took about an hour and thankfully, we got a refund for the parking. Location: it's not terrible, it's only a few blocks from the Riverwalk, but it is on a dark street. I don't like to leave bad reviews, I consider this an honest review. The staff could do better (they might need more housekeepers). I would've paid another $100-$200 for better service and a clean room. Check out the other reviews."
"In the hotel, near the elevators and in the room, there's a gross scent, a mix of bleach and something else that isn't clean- unwashed laundry maybe or laundry that was left in the washer for loo long- it's simply unpleasant. Down the street from it, there's a LOT of homeless people. I know that's not the hotel's fault. However, I didn't feel safe to park my car, unless I was close to the door and there are few parking spots available near the door. But the staff were nice people. The hot tub was an excellent temperature. They had the basic breakfast items in the morning: waffles, eggs, sausage, muffins, yogurt, OJ, apple juice, milk and coffee."
