"The room was fairly clean but the tub was stained and had leftover hair and no towels. The sheets were clean but the bed spread and blanket were wet. I choose to believe they just didn't get completely dry from the laundry. The young lady behind the counter was nice and checked me in early. She even suggested a place to get my Thanksgiving meal. The price after tax was $74 which is not bad for Thanksgiving since I was worried I would no event find a room. I had to take a star away because they advertise free breakfast when in fact they don't offer breakfast."
"Decent price for a double queen bed room. Although, we had to request another room due to heavy smoking smell in a non smoking room . The room was not clean, but the concierge was friendly enough to give us a downstairs room with wood flooring. All went better and decided to stay our two nights. I would highly recommend no carpet room . Red roof inn provided waffles and fruit, toast / jelly and butter. As well as apple juice orange juice."
"I did one star only cause I had to click on something to post this review. We stayed at the San Antonio location off I-10. I will never stay at a red roof again in my life. I've stayed in some not so pricey hotels but this by far was the worst. Paid for 2 nights and only ended up staying for 1. Had to ask for towels then the lady that gave them to us was so rude. The "non smoking" room smelt like an old ash tray. Didnt look feel or smell clean at all. I was afraid to walk barefoot in that room. Over all was the worst service."
"When we initially saw the hotel, both my fiance and I had second thoughts, it seems run down and outdated from the outside. We entered the room and were pleasantly surprised. The bed is clean and comfortable, everything is dusted, and it DID NOT smell like smoke. The WIFI is free with the cost of the room, and we got 3 bars. Also, one big plus was that they have a power surge in the room next to the bed which made it great to plug in phones and such. There is also a very nice, clean refrigerator, microwave, and new TV in the room. The floors are clean and my dog has been very happy staying here as well. We previously stayed in the Motel 6 across the street, and she was never settled because there is CONSTANT car alarms going off over there. I would pick Red Roof Inn now a THOUSAND times over before ever staying at another Motel 6. It is WAY WORTH the extra money to not have to sleep with bugs."
"I've worked in the hospitality field for years and so when my boyfriend and I were looking for a cheap place to sleep and shower for a few days while apartment hunting, we chose to stay here. Didn't walk in expecting the Trump Plaza but there were so many things that could have been avoided that added to my unpleasant experience. Firstly, it is quite obvious that there is either no housekeeping checklist, no supervisor room checks or the housekeepers just fail to follow protocol. Old and inexpensive does not have to mean dirty. All I ask for is a clean and functioning room and neither of those were achieved even after we moved to room number 2. Oh yeah, the first room had a cracked toilet that I discovered only after I went to use it and flushed which caused toilet water to splash all over me and the bathroom floor. The gentleman at the front desk explained that that particular is hardly ever used and that toilet had not been reported. As hard as that is to believe, fine. Room 2 had no microwave, no remote and a non functioning safe. In all, the staff was super nice and hospitable, no complaints there. It's obvious that many motels similar to this one in the area do not have the budget for the much needed updates and renovations which is totally understandable. But a clean bathtub and a simple remote control in each room is all I ask. The only pro: Bed was actually clean and very comfortable."
