"Beautiful place. It is great that they dedicated it to such a wonderful person. It was formerly called Downtown Plaza, but after much needed renovations, it has been renamed and dedicated to Barbara Bush. The renovations include a new twelve hundred square foot, covered entertainment stage with outdoor lighting and a sound system. New landscaping and lighting will enhance the stage and adjacent areas including the 100-year-old oak trees along the Julia Ideson Building. They have also included a new fence that will have sliding gates on both McKinney and Lamar Streets. The gates will be open during daylight hours and closed at night, providing additional security for the Plaza’s new features."
