"I will start with the positive. The room we stayed in was the king corner studio. It had a great view, was clean, and spacious. Now the bad. I have put in my card and paid online. Once i got there they told me they don't charge the card that used online, its just to hold the reservation. They had to have a card right then and there. I was never told that online and it didn't make much since that they could use that card when it was already accepted online. However, I said okay and paid with a card I had, but the lady I was dealing with was SO RUDE. She was not helpful at all, gave us no info on breakfast, pool, or anything. We ended up wondering around trying to find those things ourselves. We wanted to use the pool and hot tub, the pool was fine but the hot tub was absolutely disgusting. There was black gunk all all the sides on the inside and floating around. It clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while and there were not towels at all. Several staff came in, noticed no towels, but still didn't refill it. The area is defiantly a little sketchy too. People outside screaming at eachtoher all hours of the night, gunshots and then tons of police. The room was nice but other amenities were not and defiantly wont stay again."
"The room view is excellent. Never had one while visiting in Chicago. But Great Breakfast except Unwelcome Guests as well. The Pool is cold as outside temperature, and the hot tub next to the pool is amazing. Will come back in the future!"
"Great location for what we wanted to do. Room nice & clean. 2 queen beds & fold out couch. Kitchenette. Pool, hot tub, fitness center. Wonderful complimentary breakfast buffet. Guest laundry. Conference rooms/meeting rooms. Common area balconies to congregate. Nice views of the city. Parking......ugh. $65/night for valet, or take your chances finding a place within 10 miles for $20/night. Price was okay for the room. They were chintzy on the towels and toilet paper, we had to request more every day. The WiFi didn't work."
"This was a great place to be put up for a work conference. If I had been there on vacation, I would have made great use the kitchenette. I liked that the bathroom was a separate room from the sink and mirror. When I first arrived, there was a very strong perfume odor in both the lobby and my room. It gave me such a bad headache. Before I thought to even mention it to staff, it had waned, which I was grateful for. Staff was really friendly and kind."
"My wife and I were in town for the night and needed a place to stay. We had stayed in the hotel next door before, so we decided to switch it up and stay at the Homewood Suites this time. It was a pleasant experience. We arrived early and knew the room was not going to be ready, so we left the car with the valet, and our bags went into the bell closet. A few hours later. I got a text and phone call, saying the room was ready. We were elsewhere, but it was nice to know! Upon returning, we got our bags and went up to the room. Walking in, we saw the kitchen and a really good size living area. Further in the room was the vanity and bathroom with a walk-in shower. It was definitely suite-sized! The only downside to the experience was the fish smell when we first got there. It smelled like someone had microwaved some leftover fish, lingering throughout the time of the previous guest to when we arrived. We didn't say anything because it is a pain to move rooms and we were really tired from the day. I mentioned it to the very cool Front Office Manager the next day, and she was apologetic. To be honest, there was nothing she could do at the moment, so it wasn't a deal breaker. The complimentary breakfast was really nice the next day. It was well stocked, clean, and really tasty. Kudos for that! Overall, if in the area, we would return. It is a good hotel, except for the lack of room deodorizer. Hopefully, the room won't reek of reheated fish next time."
