Holiday Inn & Suites Chicago-Downtown, an IHG Hotel 506 West Harrison Street, Chicago, IL 60607

"Unfortunately I must give this hotel a 2 star *at most* after staying 3 nights. First off, hotel staff is very friendly but definitely don’t go out of their way to accommodate issues. The last day before checkout we took all of our baggage to the car but left the box of alcohol on the chair in the room so nothing would freeze in the trunk, came back from breakfast and the box was mysteriously moved to the bottom of the coat closet? Nothing in the room was cleaned or moved just the liquor. Also a big issue with the stay was my partner and I saw a big cockroach in the second floor hallway and it scurried into a room under the door as we approached to go to the elevators, Very unsettling and we definitely reported it to the front desk right away. It makes sense to see this as the utility room was right there I’m assuming it’s from there but still very very unacceptable. Last issue but not least an issue with sewage smell around the elevators on the second floor . With all the issues and the location was very noisy being directly beside the highway I would not recommend to stay here"

"Staff was nice they even upgraded us to a suite for being ihg members once looking around the room we found a dead cockroach, tried to give them the benefit of doubt and asked for rooms to be switched. Got sent to another suite and they’re were even bigger ones in this room in a completely different floor. So me and my entire bachlorette party that booked rooms had to check out at 430am and drive 2 hours back home where we live. We planned on spending the next day in Chicago as well but couldn’t do that because we had no where else to go at 4am in Chicago. I’ve stayed at holiday inns all over the country and I’ve never experienced anything like this. Staff was nice but there no manager there overnight for them to even handle situations like this we were just told to leave if we wanted and call in the morning."

"Micha and Maurice were extremely helpful along with the other staff through our my stay a couple of weeks ago. Would recommend to anyone staying in this hotel. I appreciate the auxiliary sink and the microwave and fridge in the room I stayed in."

"Everyone was so kind and professional. I will say that as soon as my family and I walked into our suite, it smelled like weed. The side table of where the bed is was also sticky, and the floor in the bathroom tiles were dirty. Overall the service was very kind and professional, but the place wasn’t the cleanest. Also, if you’re looking for a hotel with breakfast included, this isn’t it. They have a restaurant downstairs, but you do have to pay, just an FYI."

"As a chauffeur, I have picked up guest at this location before so I’m familiar with its location. Yesterday I stopped in at the front desk. I was dressed in my business apparel as often as I am. I ask the receptionist at the desk if there was a restroom I can use. I was asked If I was a guest. My simple reply was no. I was told no that couldn’t use the restroom. I replied to the receptionist that I understand and I then I exited the location. I want this location to no that “word of mouth” is a strong networking communication skill. The next time I have a rider who asks if they’re any hotels near Union Station, I’ll keep in mind to overlook this location. Furthermore, I’ll make sure not to book any rooms for myself. Hospitality goes a long way more than booking rooms. It’s about helping one another. One hand washes the next."
