The Lory of Hoover

"This is one of the worse places I have ever experienced. My daughter just moved here in December 2023 and there was no lock on the door when we got there. We arrived with a u-haul full of furniture, and the property manager wanted us to come back another day. SERIOUSLY WOMAN!!! No wall plugs cover, no refrigerator at the time (we had to move the old one out to get the one out of the office), no fire alarm, moisture spots on the bathroom walls, blinds missing shingles, vent filters need changing, broken sink pieces, locks on doors broken. This apartment was not ready and should not have been rented. But they want that rent money. Still to this day no mailbox key and she has been given nothing but excuses from management. If it wasn't for the leasing agent, Thomas, she would not have a lock on the front door. No, we will NOT be renewing, and we know this ahead of time. They can do better!!! Treat people like you want your someone to treat your child or relative. Hire some more maintenance people or pull them from another property to help out. Heck, pay overtime!!! If you are getting our money, we expect what we are paying for. Yes, WE!!! This is pitiful. That property manager renting apartments that aren't even up to code. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!!!!"

"Been here since January of 2023 and didn’t have any problems up until October of 2023 when my heat went completely out! Maintenance said out his own mouth he didn’t know what was wrong with it. Back and forth with work orders, managers, and the leasing office and here we are in January of 2024 and STILL NO HEAT! temps has been as low as 20 degrees and I’ve had to sleep in it and no one has tried to help me out other than a heater not even the size of my leg! Now, I’m sick, but good thing my lease is up this month! DO NOT MOVE HERE!"

"I currently reside in this community have been here for a month and have had issues since day one. I will not recommend anyone to live here even if it’s your last results. This property should be shut down. Only reason for one star is location is convenience for the mall other than that I would have given a negative five. Definitely feel like not worth the money."

"Horrible. Cannot keep maintenance crew for more than 3 months. Multiple things happen at this apartment complex. Can’t afford the parts to repair things that arent working . Apparently their “ funding” isn’t helping them. Management seems to be no help as well. Things have only gotten worse in the last 3 years that Ive stayed here. I do NOT recommend"

"If giving no stars was a option I would. These apartments THE LORY at HOOVER are so unprofessional. We told staff 8 months ago we did not have a fire extinguisher and even when they came around to do fire alarm checks I reported it again that we didn't have one and nothing has been done. Wires hanging from dish washer, back laundry room leaking water. We have had to keep buckets under to drain for the last 8 months!!!! The water is off every week and the office staff is rude and only concerned with paying rent. The rent has went up but the apartments are in bad condition and maintenance has made no repairs for 8 months even though they have gotten work orders. Also the pictures on the site look nothing like the real thing so don't be fooled. A few resident I have spoken with are looking into contacting the health department. That's the only way things will get done."
