"Took my nephew today for some dental work. He was very nervous when he went in. When he came out, he was more upset. When he was crying, a nurse was nasty and said, "Stop it! You're fine!" Pediatric dentistry my foot! You should be ashamed"

"The doctor seems nice, but you barely meet him because you cannot go back with your child. I find that worrisome. The desk staff and the assistant with the brown curly hair that takes the children back: are extremely unprofessional and unwelcoming. I will be searching for a new dentist."

"DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!! front desk ladies are great but all other doctors should not be working with children! they have toys laying on the chairs but don’t allow the children to touch them claims they’re for “looks only”, held my son down who is two years old after i repeatedly told them they did not need to he would open his mouth voluntarily! then continued to look at his teeth NOT EVEN 10 seconds before sending us on our way. the whole office is dingy no way it’s sanitary at all. also i’ve heard if ur kid is over 2/3 parents are NOT aloud to be with them during the exams tons of red flags and sketchy"

"If I could give zero stars, I would. This dentist office is like something out of the 1920s… Their equipment is ancient, their facility needs upgrading, and the staff was anything but good with children. I couldn’t even believe how little the assistants and Dr.Nickerson tried to soothe my scared child. I told them ahead of time that my 6 year old daughter has a fear of the dentist. The lady that assisted us was rude, didn’t even say hello to my daughter or try to make her feel comfortable, tried to take her back alone (despite me telling her that she was frightened) and then immediately suggested the other assistants hold her down if she would have a problem with them doing the exam without even trying to talk to my daughter or make her feel comfortable. And she suggested they hold her down right in front of her which made my daughter freak out! A young assistant came over and was asking my daughter questions and as soon as she started making progress with calming her down, the older assistant turns to me and angrily says they have to hold her down, and sent her back into a tizzy. Dr.Nickerson was no better. He seemed aggravated with me because my daughter was scared and gave up within seconds of being in the room. He didn’t even say one word to my daughter, no hello, no trying to assure her that he wasn’t going to hurt her nothing. I can’t even believe this is a pediatric dentist. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a dentist office. And I know this wasn’t my daughter’s fault because Family Dental in Valparaiso always made her feel safe and my daughter had plenty of cleanings and x rays there with no problem. It was every bit about how this sorry excuse for a dentist office handled the whole visit. The only reason I switched was for insurance purposes. Absolutely horrible! Do NOT take your children here."

"Because of Dr Nickerson my daughter loves the dentist and keeps asking when she can go back! He was so patient with her. We have had two check ups so far and can’t wait to return! This is an anxious experience for most and especially children and Dr Nickerson and staff did a phenomenal job making my daughter comfortable and explaining the process each step of the way!"
