"If you are moving from out of state, don't bother. Have a limited window to move? don't bother. They are not forthcoming on any information regarding availability of a unit. my wife and I were trying to move here for medical school, and only have one weekend where we could move in. tried to arrange a tour when coming back to michigan to visit family. they said they could then two days before, they cancelled because they wont show units until they are vacated. we are 600 miles away and they wanted us to sign the lease in person. we couldn't get the keys until our move in date. oh, you want to move in on a weekend? too bad their office is closed so you can't get the keys. could have been nice and easy process if you live in state, but given all of these other 1 star reviews... probably not."
"The moment I walked in to the property I knew I was going to be treated well. The property just felt like home. Everyone from the leasing staff, maintenance, to the property manager was very welcoming, kind, and just flat out awesome! I highly recommend this property. There are a lot of properties out there but when a staff is as wonderful as they are here, it's hard to go anywhere else!"
"If i could give no stars i would!!! Literally moved from Somerset in troy where rent is over $2,000. Applied to this apartment got approved for a screening and got told my commission and over time don't count! As I go to pick up my holding fee the same woman who took it says she can't give it back without an ID even though she knows it's me. This place is a joke no one ever answers the phone and horrible customer service save your money!!!"
"I move in June 2020, I have not gone a day with out killing 2 or more bugs. Then I had ants in my daughter closet. They had someone come and spray, and continuous flys a day. I kill maybe 6 or more flies a day. I cannot stay in my apartment during the day or else I will be killing flies all day. I am going to continue to update my review.. But so far they have done nothing to fix the problem."
"***EDITED FOR UPDATED EXPERIENCE*** This a much delayed review edit, as I have now not lived in these apartments for over a year, however, when I wrote this original review it was 100% true and my honest experience. The apartments were amazing and clean and an awesome place to live. WERE. As many other reviewers have posted, the apartments were sold to a different company about 6 months after we moved in. Before being sold there was an amazing staff, Rachel was the lead manager there and she as well as the other girls were sweet as can be. Once the apartments were sold however, ALL of the previous office staff was removed, and replaced with the stupidest of women. I don't say that lightly because I'm a woman as well and I don't like to put other women down, but literally, talking to one of these girls was like talking to an egg. Just nothing there, couldn't understand anything I was saying to her. More importantly though, the grounds started becoming DISGUSTING. Like, never cleaned. There was garbage everywhere. Specifically, the can next to the mail area would get filled very quickly (this should be expected since people toss out their junk mail right in it). But this trash would get filled to the max, and sit there for over a week countless times. So much so that mail and garbage would be blown out by the wind and litter would get strewn everywhere. Not only that, but they would never empty the dog poop bins, so those would constantly overflow. Also, people just started leaving trash everywhere (part of this is of course the trashy people themselves contributing to this), but the apartment should've 1: had groundskeepers to keep up with the garbage around 2: notices should have been sent out to all tenants letting everyone know that dumping garbage anywhere but the garbage bins was prohibited, and that anyone found dumping would be charged. This is what you must do for those who want to be lazy and stick their garbage behind the nice looking trees. Again, we NEVER had a garbage issue before they were sold to the new company. Lastly, we ended up breaking our lease because we purchased a house, now I have broken leases before.. generally you just give 30 days notice and make sure to clean up and the landlords/apartments are fine with you leaving. Not these guys... they literally pulled out my lease agreement and cited how I have to pay EITHER three months rent or rent until they fill the apartment, to which they said they'd give my apartment priority when leasing new tenants. So I had no choice but to pay almost $3k at the same time I had to put a down payment on my house. Now, to be fair.. my contract was clear about the consequences of me breaking my lease, however like I said before, every other time I've had to break a lease before, the apartment was extremely accommodating and easy to deal with, usually only requiring 30 days notice of vacancy. Sorry for the VERY LONG story, but I wanted to make sure everyone knows the full story on this place. I'm adding photos of the proof to this review as well. Long story short: this place USED to be amazing, but after being sold to another company, it's turned into trash. We moved into The Crossing about 7 months ago, and i couldn't be happier! I honestly love living here. The apartment itself was clean and well kept when we got in, no maintenance issues or stains or holes. We have one of the apartments with the vaulted ceilings and it's just beautiful! It really makes your house look so nice. The location is perfect, its sort of nestled behind a little neighborhood, surrounded by grass and trees. The location definitely adds to the happiness here, because everything is so quiet and serene, it doesn't feel like cramped, cold apartment living. But I think the best part about living here is the fact that they accept pets! Overall, I couldn't be any happier living here! I'm happy, my pets are happy, and i feel safe and relaxed walking around by myself on nice days. :)"
