Brickhaven

"Went to an open house today at Brickhaven and was extremely unimpressed with the lack of cleanliness and professionalism. When I drove into the parking lot, i was running over large holes in the cement and there were no car ports. When i went inside there was a stench of urine and the carpets were black. The laundry room was a nightmare and even worse."

"This is my first year living here. Its mediocre at best. What I like: The layout, the brick walls have a nice decorative touch, the 1 1/2 bathrooms, the balcony, huge closets and bedrooms, and the location. I like walking from here to campus or to downtown Ypsilanti. What I don't like: This building needs many, many updates. Each unit in the building is different so you must tour each one to find out which one you like. The unit I have has shelves (but other units do not). The kitchen could be updated. There is a terrible draft that comes into the windows. There is an AC unit but its located in the living room and does not circulate well throughout the apartment. The full bath is stuck in the 80s. The laundry machines seem to be constantly broken. Its hard to open the sliding doors in the bedroom. I pay about $1000 rent for a 2 bedroom. I think that its way too much for this and have paid much less for apartments much better. I mostly have a problem with the leasing company. The owners of the building and the leasing company are two different entities. This makes it difficult for anything major to be done. If it were one person, I think it would be a lot better."
