"This place is by far the worst place you can choose to live. Walls are super thin, some neighbors in particular are racist and will watch you from their balcony. The new management will play in your face and hit you with late fees when your lease states that THEY CANT!!! So it’s worth reading every fine print word in your lease to make sure they aren’t trying to rip you off because they sure will and blame it on a system. Make sure you cover your bases with having email proof of everything because they are quick to try to evict you, management does not communicate with one another so an agreement and understanding you have does not stand for another person in office. The list goes on, just overpriced and hyped up. Theres better locations for better pricing. Made it through my lease and so grateful I am out of here."

"coming back to warn ppl abt this place. Tricap has some of the worst management you could deal with. Moving in was a nightmare because they didnt even give us the info to pick up our keys to move in until hours after our move in time. They then blamed me for not completing the steps that they never relayed to me in the first place. They drilled too far into the walls of the unit next to ours and you could see every spot they screwed into from the other side. The thermostat in our unit had the buttons ripped out. They posted a notice to vacate on my front door and several other units for renovations. They said they would love to continue renting to us if we moved into a renovated unit that costs 400 more though! Only rent from here if its ur last option but literally any slumlord in kzoo would be better bc they would at least get back to you and arent as slimy in practice"

"Hope you don’t actually want to live here because they will never contact you! My mom has been searching for an apartment in Kalamazoo and emailed their main office three weeks ago. We didn’t hear anything back, so I went ahead and scheduled a self-guided tour for her, thinking someone would contact us after that. That was two weeks ago. We toured the Element, and received a boilerplate email afterwards saying they hope we enjoyed the tour, and to email a certain address with questions. I emailed that address asking about availability the day I received the email and never heard back. I then called the number on the website which led to a phone tree, which ultimately led to a person who works for their parent company. She told me she saw that the Element on Main had sent me an email already, but could not see what the email said. I told her it was a boilerplate email and I had already responded to it. She didn’t apologize at all once I told her how many times we tried to get in touch with someone, but said she’d put in an “emergency request” for someone to call me from the Element. That was last Thursday. Almost a week later, I still haven’t heard anything. Completely bizarre that it’s impossible to get in touch with anyone at this apartment when we’re trying to give them our business. I lived here when it was Carriage Green and really liked it, but they’ve clearly gone way downhill. Stay away!"

"The apartment that I am in currently is a nice apartment. The only issue I’ve actually had with the apartment itself is the walls being so thin, you can hear a cats claws on the hardwood from the neighbors. But that’s the only nice thing I would say about this place. This apartment complex has to have the worst management, I have ever heard of. They don’t answer any phone calls. They just direct you to a central phone company and tell you they will call you back. They make sure to not send you a vacate letter so if you have a move out date and the letter wasn’t “mailed” in before 60 days of moving out, you have to pay rent for how many days up to 60 past when you move out. You can’t turn off the electric either and instead get a prorated charge. So now we are stuck paying for 30 days plus of rent. Because the management only sends renewal notices, not vacate notices. We had to contact their “central” line to even request a notice to vacate. After days of waiting I went into my lease to find an email of an actual human being who has anything to do with the complex. I have asked multiple times for someone who actually works here phone number to try and get what we are now being charged phone number instead of going back and forth on email. This place has been nothing but a head ache and now with one of the biggest moves of my life across the country. I now don’t just have to pay a security deposit, administration fee, and rent for a new apartment. I also am going to have to pay rent to a place that I’m not even going to be living at. They don’t even send you a notice to vacate form and put it in tiny print that you need to request one when they send the renewal letter. This is all a scam to make money and they told us we would have 30-days to pay and they will just take your security deposit to help pay for it. I pray no one has this experience with this complex again and as everyone can see from the reviews it’s a common occurrence. Do yourselves the favor and don’t sign here"
