"Who puts a basketball hoop in a parking lot? Nothing but issues with kids hitting our cars with their basketballs and bikes. Kids hang out in the area with the basketball hoop and leave piles of trash. Also who’s idea was it to only put one washer and one dryer for 12 families? The washer and dryer are never open or working. Not only that, but we have had our water shut off multiple times with no notice. Having hair dye in your hair and then magically the water won’t turn on for hours is pretty annoying. Not only these things, but anytime we call the office to request maintenance or ask a question, one specific lady who answers the phone always has an attitude and acts like she doesn’t want to help us."
"This apartment was a last resort for me and I wish I would have never made the decision to move here. First thing, the rent. I was renting out a one bedroom apartment for $836 a month, and I had a friend that lived in a two bedroom apartment that was also renovated mind you, for the same price of not a little bit more. My apartment was not renovated at all, there were parts of the apartment that were just rigged to “work”. My main issue is with the system they run, I had fell behind on rent payments due to several debilitating mental health issues. I had a court date and I made sure to show proof of me always paying my rent on time and reaching out for help if I felt that I was gonna fall behind. I made sure I also had proof of my conditions which didn’t even seem to matter especially to the attorney they appointed me. I told him this and he brushed it off. I had got the run around when it came to trying to reach out for help or extra time before my eviction date. Nobody, the courts, the attorney, or the leasing office would communicate or help me in my search to find resources. When I called the leasing office to ask, they told me since it was past the eviction date that there was nothing they could do which is just ridiculous in my opinion. I know that I still had to follow my lease but the fact that I was reaching out for help and trying to make sure I paid what I owed just to be ignored and turned down for everything is just unacceptable in my opinion. This apartment is not worth it at all to be honest."
"I currently live at Hickory Village, and despite its bad reputation, I have actually had a pleasant experience here. The front office staff, particularly Tammy who helped us lease our apartment, has been incredibly friendly and accommodating. Tammy always greets us with a warm smile and is eager to assist us with any concerns or questions we may have. The maintenance team at Hickory Village is also commendable. They are knowledgeable and prompt in addressing any maintenance issues that arise. I appreciate their efficiency and dedication to keeping the complex well-maintained. While the grounds are generally well-kept, I believe adding more plants and enhancing the "garden" views would greatly enhance the overall ambiance. However, the beautifully maintained grass and the presence of peaceful wooded areas throughout the complex provide a relaxing environment that feels tucked away from it all while being close to literally everything we need. One aspect that has contributed to my positive experience at Hickory Village is the respectful and considerate neighbors. I feel safe and comfortable in this community, as everyone seems to uphold a sense of mutual respect. In terms of the apartment itself, I am leasing a studio apartment, and I must admit that the layout is surprisingly spacious. I have broken some of the trim with my vacuum cleaner, because it was installed incorrectly (so hoping I don’t get charged for that after my lease ends.) but overall the apartment was in great shape when we moved in. It offers more than enough room for my needs, and I appreciate the fact that the rent allows for additional funds. This flexibility has allowed me to rent a storage unit for items that I don't use daily but still want to keep and still within budget. Overall, despite its negative reputation, Hickory Village has proven to be a welcoming and pleasant place to call home. The friendly front office staff, efficient maintenance team, well-maintained grounds, respectful neighbors, and spacious studio apartments have all contributed to my positive experience."
"I have lived at Hickory Village for 5 years and no plans on moving soon. Leasing office staff are always polite and helpful. Maintenance has always been there right away to fix things or even deal with noise complaints. And I love the care they take with landscaping. It's so nice to look out from my balcony onto trees & a lawn instead of parking lot. It may have less amenities than some places but rent is cheaper. And you will hear some annoying neighbors but that's true anywhere almost."
