Dickey's Barbecue Pit

"The owner/manger guy has been rude since the day they opened and now the employees have the same attitude. The second you walk up to the counter you are inconveniencing the employees. I ordered the brisket and got a plate full of chopped up fat. Literally 70% of the "meat" was just fat. I brought it back up to the counter and nicely asked if I could get more meat instead of a plate of fat and the girl threw a fit. She told me "thats what I gave you and you can eat it or buy another plate". The food and service has been going downhill since day one and this was my last straw. I will not be back. Reading other reviews, I think that most locals also have had the same experience. Maybe this place can stay afloat with tourist money but no one local will pay $18 for a terrible experience. Also, their prices have jumped 30% in the last year. Last year the Westerner sandwich meal cost 9.99 and right now it is 14.50."

"I dont know where to start. It was a terrible experience the minute we walked in the door. There was no greeting from the girl she started out by telling us what they didn’t have. My husband and I ordered food and somehow were charged for 3 meals. I paid $51 for our 2 meals. I told her there was a mistake and she told me she would go to the back and push a button but she couldn’t do it right now and was not able to give me a receipt. I could watch my bank account and would see the refund. Who knows if I will ever see the $11. My tray of food was tossed over to the counter and was cold! Pulled pork has no sauce? It was just cold dry meat. Her attitude just sucked. I’m not sure what her problem was. I even asked her at this point why she was having a bad day? Thank you Amanda, I will never go to Dickeys again #bigyellowcup"

"I've been there 2 times and my experience was not consistent. The first time I got a platter and it was good. The second time a pulled pork sandwich that was too fatty for my tastes. The staff there can be inattentive."

"My family and I went here to celebrate a birthday and we were very impressed. The General Manager is a awesome guy, and took the time to talk to us (as it was our first time there) about the menu items and what he would recommend as far as the most cost effective options for a large group. The food itself was very good. We had a meal that consisted of 3 meats: Chicken, Brisket and Ribs. They did not disappoint in the slightest. All of it was nice and tender, and the sides and the BBQ sauce was excellent. The prices weren't outlandish. I have been in BBQ places were the prices were much higher and the food quality did not match the price that was charged. I would say that depending on what your looking for, whether its a Pulled Pork sandwich or a whole meal, there is something for all budget types. We will definitely be going here in the future."

"Great BBQ and dining experience all-around! The dining area and restrooms were so fresh and so clean, clean! Went with a couple of friends and we all enjoyed our various plates. Therefore, there is nothing I would not recommend ordering. But I can say first hand that the brisket is good stuff! Fried okra is good too!"
