She listens patiently to me as I describe to her all my aches and pains and then she makes sure I understand everything we’ve discussed. "I've been coming here as an adult for 5 years now. Wait time is short, I'm usually in the patient room within 5 min of arrival. I wait a bit for the doctor, but never very long. Dr. Engelmann is always great providing information, answering questions, etc. Appointments never feel rushed or on a clock. I've never been as healthy as I am now (although I still have a bit to go), and I credit a lot of that to her ability to listen without judgement and teach me to take better care of myself. From gentle reminders (before I was ready to change) to providing support along the way (while I was doing the work to change), it's made a big difference for me. Even if I move out of the area, I'm not changing doctor's. I'd rather drive a ways out of my way than try to find another doctor as good as Dr. E."

"I don’t even know where to begin. We have been there 1 year, coming from a doctor we have had for 33 years. We like Dr. Houtman - she seems knowledgeable. The office staff are excellent. The problem we have is with communication. If you need med refills or changes going through their assistant Gabriella is awful. We call and leave messages and they are never returned. We finally have went back to our old physician 1.5 hours away and we call there and within 2 hours we have a phone call back. I have complained to the office manager and then we get a response but I’m not sure why it has to go to that level."
