The Finnley Hotel 65 Monroe Center Street Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

"Stayed here for a concert at VanAndle arena. Basically a block away so great place to stay if you are coming to a show , even in bad weather it’s not bad . Hotel has no parking but across the street there is a public parking ramp . We got there about 3pm and left 10am the next morning and it was $46 to park . There is metered parking on the road you can download an app and pay for but we didn’t try that . Room was very clean and comfortable. There is no front desk , you will get emails and texts on how to get in and checkout with a text. Like a lot of hotels today , I think our room was advertised $130 but when you book they tack on a $60 for room cleaning and tax and it cost about $205 total . I have stayed in some other local hotels for the same price and found this more to my liking. Lot of great places to eat in a block or two also, so you don’t need to try to drive anywhere. Oddly you would think the nightlife would be happening but the town shuts down rather early , there was only one bar that stayed open til 1am the rest were closed much earlier, so if you plan on hitting the town after a show or game you need to research closing times to avoid walking to a place only to discover it’s closed for the night already."

"Our stay in the Connect suite was fabulous. Well designed for maneuverability and the location was perfect for short walks to points of interest, shopping and eating. The decor is smashing, and I appreciated the seamless check-in and checkout process. We will definitely refer to the Finnley Hotel as our first choice of accommodations in downtown Grand Rapids for future stays."

"Pros: The hotel is nicely furnished and very clean. Cons: I would struggle to call this a hotel as the format and amenities are more in line with an AirBnB. This a collection of a few rooms in the lower level of a larger building. There isn’t a concierge, lobby, parking, or loading and unloading area. We had some miscommunication with the parking situation where we were provided the wrong address for the garage. After texting with the manager we received a new address but could not locate any parking garage at that address. We eventually parked somewhere else and the price for the ore-paid parking was refunded by the Finnley. The room that we were in was at the end of the hall with an emergency street exit. There was a ridiculous amount of street noise, to the point that my husband, who normally sleeps through anything, had trouble sleeping."
