"Poor quality of service, unorganized staff, and dishonest billing. We had tried to make appointments a week ago online however we never got confirmation / follow-up emails, never got phone calls or anything. After multiple attempts of trying to schedule online we had agreed on a time for our appointment. When we arrived on time to our agreed appointment time, they told us we weren’t booked at all. They forgot to schedule us completely. We then had to wait 35 minutes in a room alone waiting for someone to attend us. They seemed short staffed. After which we were greeted by someone that passive aggressively blamed us for not scheduling the appointment properly. The dishonest part of the billing starts in the emails, where they asked if we wanted only a rabies vaccine or a check up as well. We opted for the rabies vaccine only. In our previous visit they brought the vaccine to our room and administered the vaccine with us present. This time they took our cat to another room and had us wait another 25 minutes (likely due to staffing issues). It was unnerving because we didn’t know what they were doing to our cat and obviously a vaccine shot takes only a second. We’re not medical professionals so unless a rabies shot is super special and different from other vaccines and requires your pet be taken to another room for half an hour, I think that was questionable at best. After unnecessarily long wait times and disorganization we were charged for a “vaccine appointment” ($70) and the vaccine itself ($53).. separately. Along with the disposable needle ($7). After asking why the vaccine appointment and the vaccine are separate costs they explained the vaccine appointment was to take his temperature and see if he had ticks. Which sounds an awful lot like a check up! In any case I would strongly advise against taking your pets here because an unorganized and dishonest business is more likely to mistreat your pets than other businesses."

"I love all the vets and staff at Animal Advocate. I’ve been taking my 2 cats there for just about 4 years now. They have been great about getting me in quickly when my kitties are sick and their treatments have always gotten them better. My youngest cat got spayed here last summer. As always they review all the pricing with you about everything up front, so there is never a surprise charge. I dropped my cat off in the morning and picked her up a few hours later. Everything went perfectly. After every visit they reach out a few days later to check in. I would highly recommend Animal Advocate for anyone who lives downtown or the surrounding areas."

"This pet hospital is a true gem. The staff is friendly and went above and beyond to open early so I could drop my dog off before work, I can’t speak enough to the care and support Dr.Clay gave my pet, she is an older Pom and had her teeth cleaned here, the results were great she no longer has build up on her teeth. The pricing is the best I’ve seen for any vet in the west loop, loop or river north area. Thank you!!"

"I have a very difficult, once feral cat. Vet visits have always been quite challenging, until I found Animal Advocate Pet Hospital. Dr. Clay-Smith and her team are the absolute best and very knowledgeable in dealing with difficult pets. In 20 years of owning cats I have never had as good of an experience at the vet-even with my much less difficult previous cat. She and her team took the extra time my cat needed, did not get frustrated with her and put me at such ease. They outline all the options and price points and there was no sales pressure. I am so happy to have found Dr. Clay-Smith and her team and would never consider going anywhere else for my vet needs."

We were whisked into an exam room, treated very professional with a unique personal touch. The doctor came in, introduced herself, gave a short professional philosophy of her business and medical care for both our pets and their human parents. A wonderful experience for us..I highly recommend this vet center for loving care and great medical attention for your fur babies."
