"The only reason that this place deserves a single start and not zero stars is for the location relative to Cleveland state. The management is so beyond bad and incompetent at their job. They will also charge you for EVERYTHING when you move out. Little nick or scratch on the wall? Charge. Inside of oven not spotless? Charge. Mark on the floor? Charge. Dusty on top of fridge? Charge. Literally anything that you can think of they will charge you for. Their office hours are from 10-5 Monday- Friday so if you work a full time job there is literally not a time that you can go to the leasing office to deal with anything. The lack of communication from them is just disrespectful and I’m so glad I don’t live there anymore."
"Worst experience ever! Thank heavens daughter only lived there during a summer internship. This definitely is NOT the place for young professionals, so maybe it's a good thing it is going to be used for housing at Cleveland State in the future. It is definitely geared more towards people who can be available during their odd office hours. Since this was a sublease, daughter was charged for damages upon her move out that occurred from original leaser (string lights attached to walls and cabinets that needed to be removed). Will say, office staff appeared to be well trained to "follow management rules". The biggest kicker for me was how they were so strict on things like wording on rental insurance, not releasing a parking permit until BOTH parties had paid in a tandem spot (didn't even know the other person), yet while moving in, the building reeked of pot!"
"In short, this place has its advantages and disadvantages. Overall, I'm satisfied with my stay, but improvements can certainly be made. Let's delve into the specifics of what I consider to be the positives and negatives: Advantages: Ideal Location: As someone who doesn't own a car, I appreciate that the Edge on Euclid is centrally located. It's convenient to access the entire East side with just a short walk to a nearby bus stop. Safety: Initially, I had concerns about unauthorized guests, but that issue was resolved quickly after a few weeks. The building's downtown location is relatively safe, with minimal loitering and panhandling. Even during late hours, I have felt secure returning to the building, and incidents of violence are uncommon. Modern Construction: Unlike many older buildings in downtown Cleveland that suffer from insect issues, this building is new and impeccably maintained, ensuring a bug-free living environment. Spectacular Common Areas: The common area on the 11th floor offers a breathtaking view of Lake Erie, making it an ideal spot to watch the NBA finals and other sporting events. Despite the occasional issue with TNT, I could easily enjoy various games even without cable in my apartment. Disadvantages: Gym Noise: One major drawback is the loud music played through Bluetooth speakers by some gym-goers. It can be disruptive and discourages others from working out peacefully. Parking Costs: Parking expenses in the downtown area are exorbitant, making it inconvenient for residents who own cars. Limited nearby options for parking exacerbate the problem. Noise from College Students: The presence of many college students in the building can lead to excessive noise, especially on weekend nights, making it challenging for young professionals to rest peacefully. Corporate Leasing Policies: The strictness regarding late payments and inconsistent rent increases is bothersome. Eviction notices for minor delays in rent payment seem harsh, and sudden rent hikes without clear reasons add to the financial burden. Roommate Assignments: It is odd that residents are assigned roommates without any prior knowledge of their background or arrival time, leading to potential compatibility issues. Maintenance Concerns: Although maintenance response is generally quick, some issues, like a non-functional stairwell key on the 6th floor, remain unresolved for an extended period, despite attempts to fix them. Lack of Storage Space: The room design lacks adequate storage options, making it challenging for residents to keep their belongings organized."
"There are benefits and drawbacks to living there. The apartments are as shown, a nice amount of space for a college student and nice amenities such as in unit laundry, dishwasher, full kitchen. Bedrooms and bathrooms are fairly spacious for that type of housing. Cost is comparable to dorms. Parking fees seemed high to me, but also pretty typical. The building isn’t that secure, people come in and out all day, front desk is just another young tenant. Maintenance was just ok. It does get loud in there, but again, to be expected. They allow animals so there were often times my son would hear animals barking for long periods of time that were left home. Dealing with property management was unfortunately also typical of corporate leasing. Very friendly and helpful when you are looking to rent, terrible once you actually are. Communication was extremely poor, disorganized and they don’t care, they will put everything on you even if they make the error. And like every corporate leasing place, will try and juice you for every dime they can. I just got a call from them a year after my son moved out looking for cleaning money from the walk through! My husband cleaned the apartment with my son and took pictures because he knew how they were. Personally, I would never do business with them again after the obnoxious scenarios I dealt with their inability to properly manage the administrative side. But I would say just make sure you go in with your eyes open and document every thing. Keep an eye on the billing and document system, they have frequent issues with their system and will blame you if their system is having issues and expect late absurd late fees. Unfortunately, I think this is the way these place operate so I don’t know if that would be better anywhere else. My son spoke to many people when living there who experienced similar issues, there was even a few times where lots of people had eviction notices on their door and again, billing issues in their system."
"I have been living here at The Edge on Euclid for a couple months now and I LOVE it! I enjoy all of the resident events and amenities, especially the sky lounge. The community is clean and the leasing office staff is friendly. Kayla was extremely helpful today when one of the package lockers wouldn’t open. Super sad I have to move out in July due to CSU turning it into a residence hall!"
