"When checking in, make sure you check in when the woman is working. The two men I dealt with there will lie to you and then try to charge you more money when checking in, The bathroom sink was stopped up and the third shift man said he would get it tomorrow. The toilet was backed up and he just handed me the plunger. PS.. The third shift man said he would match the neighboring hotels price or any of the prices on the travel apps. When I went to renew in a different room because I was too tired to move hotels, he WOULD NOT honor our agreement on the room prices. Pay the extra money and stay at the Hampton or TRU hotels next door. The service has no choice but to be better than what I had."
"This was not a good experience at all. First, I had to switch rooms because it smelled like smoke, the bathroom was dirty, saw a roach inside the bagel case (I was disgusted). I was also double charged for my room and the manager Sal will not call me back. I’ve called 5 times now and the worker said he will be in tomorrow, now I am paying for their mistake. I will be posting on the BBB site as well."
"Flies swarming in lobby all around coffee & food area should've been our cue to cancel the reservation & seek shelter elsewhere, anywhere else. Figured we're not here for coffee or stale cereal so maybe we're alright. Not so much. Massive flood light shining up from outside onto wall & window clearly meant to enhance how the building looks on exterior nevermind that it shines into window so even with drapes closed, bright light comes in for a wide section above the rod & that whole effect is worsened by the most gawd awful interior of a room we've EVER seen: the entire wall at the head of the beds is a mirror!! The 2-way kind you see in crime drama interrogation room scenes or the creepy criminal's lair preceding that. And as mentioned, a reflective wall is not helping the invasive floodlight situation. Mattresses are super firm if you like a rock hard couch type experience. Excellent water pressure in the shower, nice surprise to an otherwise s#ithole vibe, except that the hot water doesn't last (what the? Not supposed to be a concern at a hotel, especially in ground level room) Also the painted portion of the wall above the shower surround looked filthy, 'cept it wasn't dirt, y'all. It was straight up mildew, a large portion of that wall. Blech! And the shower curtain was hung SO low that it was laying like a wet sheet over part of the bottom of the shower. There was PLENTY of space to hang the rod higher to remedy this but nope they opted for the full petri dish project. Extra star for location (above the 1 star for everything else) because it's in the Kings Island vicinity as advertised, but trust there are many others around there too that couldn't possibly be worse."
"STAY AWAY. I would give zero stars if I could. Where do I start? Before even checking in, we noticed right away that the interior of this place did NOT match the pictures, which were obviously taken way back when it first opened. The inside is run down with holes and dents in the wall, smells terrible, and you can see a huge mess behind the front desk. The end of the hallway also strongly smelled of vomit. We started walking to our room, and the staircase was was definitely neglected while cleaning. It smelled, had brown dripping stains on the wall, broken lights hanging by wires, and mouse droppings and food debris in the window. In the hallway to our room, we were immediately hit in the face by a disgusting musty and smokey smell, and our room smelled even stronger. The room was absolutely atrocious; extremely run down, again looked nothing like the photos, hair in the bathroom, and VERY musky. Rather than the couch that was pictured, we had a broken futon. It was such a strong & terrible smell that we were getting a headache within only a few minutes. Within less than 10 minutes of checking in, we went to the front desk and let them know about the terrible smell. Their response? “Ok we’ll make a note.” And that was it. Nothing else. It didn’t take long to understand that the manager was not going to be interested in helping us. Unfortunately for us, we booked through a military website that is supposed to be cheaper and helpful. They would only refund the room if the hotel manager agreed to it. They called him and he asked that we go back and talk to him again. At first, he said he would give us a refund, and then changed his story to say that he wouldn’t give us a refund because we were “there for an hour”. So even though we had a disgusting and unsanitary room in an equally disgusting and unsanitary hotel, the manager wouldn’t do a thing to help because we checked in an hour ago. He then offered to switch the room, however after seeing the terrible state of the “hotel” and the multiple recent reviews with photos of bed bugs, we had no interest in seeing another room. After going back and forth with the manager and the booking company and getting nowhere, we eventually decided that the room was so gross and dirty that we would take the loss and pay out of pocket for another hotel. I will never, ever return to this or any other Microtel, and I should have known better. I have never in my life been in a hotel that disgusted me so much that I had to leave without a refund. That speaks volumes, and even on a budget, I would never recommend staying here."
"BUGS! MOLD! HAIR! GRUNGE! RUDE! NASTY! NASTY! NASTY! Upon entry to room 112 the immediate smell of mildew and sewage hit my nasal cavity harder than Mike Tyson. We then inspect the beds to find black stain and bugs! The receptionist told me the manager would refund my money in the morning that never happened I had to call and dispute this with my travel agent. I knew I wasn't booking at The W but I also wasn't expecting to book the tenchea either. 10 out of 10 DON'T RECOMMEND"
