"Went in to have my ears looked at. Was having trouble hearing from my left ear. After a nurse's aid spoke with me and "looked" at my ears, I was told that I needed a hearing test. Then, I was informed that the audiologist was not there on that day! So they set up an appointment to see the audiologist in late February. Then! They had the audacity to charge me a 40 dollar co-payment!!! Will I keep my appointment in February? I will, but I will refuse to pay another $40 co-pay!!! Look somewhere else for a decent ENT in Springfield... Feb 12 2024 I called out today for my appointment and spoke, of course, with the secretary and I explained what had happened previously. I asked if I was going to be charged another $40 co pay and of course I was told that I would be, because that is how it is set up with my insurance. I told them that I felt I really needed the test and that they are rated very, very high and I would like to use them as my ENT. I was told it does not matter you will have to pay another $40 co-pay. Ohio Valley ENT maybe rated extremely high on the reviews. But I would recommend that you check and make sure that you have an audiologist there at the time of your first appointment or any other subsequent appointments. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield federal employee program insurance. The best you can possibly get. I will be calling them and explaining what is going on. Because I feel that not only I was going to be ripped off. But they're actually ripping off my insurance company by charging for things that aren't even done. I can only imagine what they got paid for me. Sitting there and listening to a nurse practitioner. Tell me about what the problem might be with my ear. No wonder insurances so high when these places are gouging!!!"

"Dr Smith is a very nice man and seems like an excellent doctor. He was very patient with my 86 year old mother--which is no small task. I am considering using him myself for some of my own inner ear issues. My only complaint is the office staff isn't quite up to par with the doctor."
