Reviews of Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup
"Very happy with the service today. It's a holiday and our shower and toilet were backed up. No one else could help except Roto Rooter. They came within an hour and a half of making the appointment. Cleared the line right away. So happy I contacted them."
"Had Mike and Jason come to the rescue and find our tree root in sewer line problem which they cleared. Promplty next day, Steve did an absolutely incredible job in replacing that line and leaving everything tidy despite working with dirt/sewer/septic tank. I couldn't be more grateful for the work they did and how quickly it got done. 5/5"
"The technician Trevor did an awesome job! Even though I missed the appointment call, he still circled back around within less than an hour, and took care of our emergency waste situation. I’m extremely grateful for his professionalism, as well as fixing the problem within an hour. I highly recommend this service!"
"Edited 1-19-2024 Roto-Rooter Manager contacted me and sent out another Plumber (4713-Mike), who was very detailed, knowledgeable, and well manner. He took everything apart and replace the Parts in the Toilet Tank with the parts that needed to be installed. He was very neat, cleaned everything up and made sure that I was satisfied before he left. Previous Review Took parts out of my toilet and replaced with generic cheap parts. Repairman Lied and said was he was going to Home Depot to replace the Parts with the original parts that were meant to be in my tank and left and never came back."
"I deeply regret using Roto-Rooter. I’ve called them before, and while I know their prices are higher than competitors, they are usually professional and quick. I called this time for a leak that was coming from my upstairs tub and causing damage to the ceiling of the shower below it. This has happened to us before with the same exact shower so I was hoping Roto-Rooter would be the permanent fix. I spent $320 for them to knock out a small section of drywall and caulk around a spout. But before even opening the drywall, I was instructed that it was best I let them call their water mitigation team as there was likely mold beneath. I began to challenge this by saying I’d rather call someone after we inspect, but the tech told me that immediate action was best as I had two kids. Ok, I felt nervous so I agreed. Before I knew it, I had met 8 different roto-rooter employees that day and all they did was use caulk and install a humidifier. I was told to use their recommended mold remedy company (who they scheduled for me) to come out and test the levels in the bathroom. Those people came at 8pm that same day and then charged me over $600. A few days later I got a text from one of the Roto Rooter employees who informed me that the mold came back nontoxic and that there was nothing for them to do. Problem solved. He came that day to collect the humidifier. Later that night the shower leaked again. A new tech showed up two days later to discover that a screw had to be taken off and a seal be tightened. Again, an absurdly easy fix. He left at no charge since it was their mistake for not finding it originally. Days later I saw a charge on my bank for over $2,000. Apparently Roto-Rooter decided to charge me for “water mitigation” despite there being no damage to the interior ceiling, no harmful mold, and no necessity for that. Everything would have dried on its own in a short time. No one ever mentioned to me that I was paying DAILY for their equipment in my bathroom. I was told to my face that I couldn’t be given a proper quote until the mold results came back, so this made it sound like the remedy would happen once we had a bigger picture. When the tech came to wrap up the job and made no mention of the invoice, I assumed that there was no work to be done. I never received an updated invoice. I never was told I’d be charged over $2,000. I was never communicated with and I had no idea what that price tag was even for. I spent all day today on the phone trying to speak with someone about this. I first called at 7:30am and finally received a call back at 2pm once they escalated my calls to a complaint. I had a back and forth with someone from corporate (who lives the whole way in Ohio and couldn’t possibly understand how absurd this charge is for the space that was assessed) for under 20 minutes and their solution was to refund me $229. I appreciate the small gesture, but it isn’t enough for what happened. I truly feel I was scammed and preyed upon for having two small kids in the home. They were evasive and lacked so much vital communication. I would have NEVER agreed to $2,000 for what was accomplished. In total, with mold testing as well, I paid nearly $3,000 for a loose screw. It’s disgusting. And I’m embarrassed I fell for this trap. I will tell everyone I know to never use this company."
