"Palm Island Realty Property Management has been great to rent our house from this far. They have one of the best with Crystal. She showed me the place first with a thorough walk through. Then she took time out to show my husband and I together on a completely different day. She was very effective with her communication! She made sure we would get into this place smoothly without any issues. From the application process to getting the keys, it was a smooth process. Maintenance requests have been fulfilled in a timely manner. And even a key lock out was handled quickly and in my opinion with care! So for now with our experience I’d recommend this realty property to group to anyone in need in the Tampa Bay Area!"
"We recently had a major plumbing issue, where we thought WE had clogged the toilet. Our lease stipulates that if a plumbing issue was caused by the tenant, then the cost to repair is the responsibility of the tenant. with this expectation we received permission from the Tallahassee office to call a local “out of network plumber” and pay them directly, rather than wait for Palm Island to go through their process of dispatching a plumber. Upon inspection, our local plumber (found via a google search with good reviews, no BBB complaints, and the availability to respond same day) determined that there was no clog in/near the house. And they did a camera inspection of the main line-discovering a main line majorly blocked with tree roots of all sizes. The plumber reached out to Palm Island main office and was not able to get ahold of anyone over approximately 6 phone calls and messages left. The plumber we used was hoping to bid for the job. I also reached out to Palm Island and was given quite the run around through their app and text service. Our repair kept getting delayed due to them needing to verify findings with an “in network” plumber before they could send anyone out to begin repairs. We went approximately 4 days without working plumbing and sewage backing up into the yard from the open cap on the main line. I want to express our satisfaction with Crystal from our local Tampa office. The delays and issues seem to be when dealing with home office in Tallahassee…communication is delayed, not good, and unhelpful at best. Once you get in connection with your local office things go MUCH smoother. Crystal was able to get a plumber as quickly as she possibly could, being that she was playing middleman between us and the “homeowner”/ and the approved plumber. The plumber dispatched left MUCH to be desired. They initially just replaced the main line and left our yard a disaster with all the busted up concrete from the patio and parking pad ripped out in order to access the line, and the old sewage covered main line left piled in our yard as well. MANY days of missed communication with the main office again and then telling me management was coming to inspect the job…days and days of no one showing up and no communication letting me know they would not be coming as scheduled. Finally (and without inspection) they sent a crew back to clean up their mess and re pour concrete where they had to cut it out. This was a terrible job. They did not smooth the concrete, they did not frame with wood and instead, decided to dump out MY cinder block planters (I use them as a boarder and to grow herbs and small plants and they were filled with expensive potting soil) and frame the concrete pad with my cinder blocks…which were allowed to dry in place. So we now have a tripping hazard and cinder lock stuck all over the edges that we can’t remove and dangerous sharp edges right outside our back door. Making this a no longer safe place for the kids to play freely. They also cemented the access caps to the new main line shut. finally getting in touch with Crystal again, she was able to come and inspect the work and agreed it was poor quality. Hopefully she will be able to send someone to fix the job and make our space safe again. My 4 stars are reflective of Crystal at the Tampa office, specifically for her communication and attention. So far I would give 2 stars for the Main office in regards to communication and timeliness for emergent plumbing issues. And 1 star for the contractors used on the job. Hopefully they can streamline communication for larger repairs and get better contractors in their “network” The staff maintenance guy, Joe, is great and we love him! Helpful, friendly, responsive, and always does a great job on small requests. But he is the only one, so it would really help if they could get additional maintenance staff all as good as Joe to help. But we always get a timely response for low priority requests and great service from Joe and Crystal."
"As a new tenant, I've had a great experience with the Tampa office. Upon inquiring about a listing, I heard back promptly. The staff member I worked with met with me within a day or two of reaching out, and did a walkthrough with me. Not only at one house, but another one that had been recently listed! The application process was straight forward, but when I had any questions she was quick to provide guidance. The same applies for the platforms they use, super easy to navigate. Definitely recommend working with Palm Island Realty Property Management."
"I’ve been renting from Palm Island realty in St. Pete for the past 5 years and counting! It has been great! Any time I have ever needed to put a maintenance request in, either Joe or Mike have been quickly accommodating. Crystal, the property manager, is a pleasure to work with. She really cares about us tenants and it shows through her communication. I had to move houses after hurricane idalia flooded the previous one. I was amazed how quickly Crystal and the team were able to transfer me into a new home. In such a stressful time, they really helped relieve a lot of anxiety. I feel extremely comfortable staying with this company and would definitely recommend to any of my friends if they’re looking for a new home!"
"I have never talked to such a more concerned and caring Property Manager than Crystal in the Tampa office. She actually listened to our circumstance and passed this information on to the homeowner. A short time later the situation was resolved. Her customer service and communication skills are beyond reproach and is to be commended. I've lived in this apartment for thirty-four years and it's only been managed by Palm Island Realty less than ten years. With Crystal on their staff everything is in great hands. Ten stars. We are greatful."
