"The Dunns Josephine Hotel is a lovely boutique hotel that is a Black owned local business. The staff are absolutely marvelous and will make you feel at home the moment you step into the lobby, which is filled with wonderful works of art. When making reservations you get to pick exactly which room you want to stay in; each of which are named after well known Black artists, politics, activists, etc. We stayed in the Josephine Baker room which was well appointed, very comfortable, and nicely decorated. One important note, the second floor is accessed only by stairs. We were packed for a two week cruise, which meant more luggage than we typically travel with. One of the staff was incredibly kind and took the bags up for us. The neighborhood is walkable with lots to see and some fun places to grab a bite to eat. I would definitely encourage using ride share at night if going more than a couple blocks. There is a pop-up gallery that celebrates and honors first Black owned and operated beauty school in Miami. It is filled with fun artifacts representative of the era."

"Fabulous little boutique hotel. Tyler helped us at the front desk and was the absolute best. Very very friendly, knowledgeable about the hotel and all the background, and gave us a few tips on what to see and where to eat. Room was very clean and very conformable. The area around may not look the best but there was no trouble at all. Highly recommend and would stay here in Miami again for sure"

"I stayed here for one night and got to meet the owner and her daughter on check in they were both a delight. I was shown to my room, and she told me about the history on the person she named the room after, Marcus Garvey, who was a publisher. I was early but she had my room ready. The hotel was decorated beautifully, the service was amazing, the community was nice. I went to a concert and got back and met Tyler who I really connected with as we had some shared experiences. He was really amazing to meet. All the bad reviews should be ignored as I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants more than just a place to stay but an experience. We were treated like family. I was directed on the best places to eat, met amazing people and felt completely safe. I can’t post a video here and wish I took more pictures but I did leave a few."

"I absolutely loved my stay at the Dunns Josephine Hotel. It really is a little hidden gem in the middle of Miami. Beautifully decorated and rich in history, this place has great rooms, really lovely and helpful staff, great wifi, as well as being incredibly well located. Would definitely return and recommend it to anyone."
