"My family and I were having a wonderful getaway from every day life. Staying at a beautiful hotel, right in the middle of some great shops. We were very pleased with the stay until our last day. I was having small talk with the hotel staff at the front desk. Very nice and polite. Then the hotel general manager had asked what room we were staying in. I was with my children at the moment. I didn’t hesitate to tell her our room. She then gets very stern with me and asked “what’s going on?” I had to ask what she had meant. She then asks again. What’s going on in that room. I replied, “we just got some bad news.” Not wanting to get into full detail about the news we just got in front of my children. She then tells me they were about to call the cops and goes on a tangent of other things. I replied again, we just got bad news. After going back to the room to console my wife. I thought I needed to go back down and handle the situation. The news we had just got was. My wife just lost her father who had been on hospice. Obviously I didn’t want my children hearing this news in front of an angry old lady. I went right back down and patiently waited for Janet to get off the phone. She had me waiting for over ten minutes. I then knew I needed to head back upstairs to console my wife and kids. I told the woman at the front desk. My wife was loudly crying (which is a crime In this hotel) over hearing the passing of her father. The worse part about this was Janet didn’t pull me to the side. She chastised me In front of her staff and other patrons. She then comes up to the room, knocks on the door and doesn’t start off with an apology like you would assume. She goes on again about the fact they were going to call the cops. I closed the door on her and told her goodbye. My experience at this hotel was amazing! Until the leader of the building ruined it. Not only with unprofessional actions, but with a cold heart and not looking to seek to understand. She ruined what was already going to be one of the hardest days of our lives."
"I can't say enough good things about the Carlisle Inn. The staff was super warm, friendly, and helpful. This hotel is extraordinarily clean. The rooms are very quiet, and everything is so well-made! Everything seems so sturdy. The cafe is great, with coffee 24 hours a day, and breakfast is hardy. This Inn is Amish-owned, and I learned a lot about that culture and religion. Very interesting! We loved the Carlisle Inn!"
"This hotel is quality! Such friendly staff, it's so clean, the hallways are huge, and I'm very excited about breakfast! We enjoyed the heated pool, the spa was nice and hot, we can't get over how much furniture and the quality of everything! There's a huge lobby, there's a sitting area with tables and chairs for you to play a game, there's a TV also in the sitting area. There's a cookie and coffee hour time! This place has always been on my bucket list to stay at. I expected a lot, but I got more than what I expected! Beautiful artwork lines the hallways, quilts, paintings and explanations of the art. It's like a museum in here! Well done. I will be back!"
"Had a few meetings in the area so decided to stay at the Carlisle for a little work and play since my daughter was off from school. Impeccable service, entire hotel was spotless, rooms cozy and spacious (beds very comfortable), close to everything, safe/quiet area, very accommodating. Overall a wonderful stay and highly recommend!"
"We were delighted with our recent stay at the Carlisle Inn in Sarasota. The Inn is owned by the Amish and Mennonite communities. They go the extra mile to ensure that their guests are comfortable during their visit to the Carlisle. The hotel is spotlessly clean and well built with wide hallways, high ceilings in the rooms and substantial mouldings. I appreciated the plantation shutters in the room instead of the usual heavy, dark drapes. The room seemed larger than most hotels and had a walk-in closet with an additional sink and counter to alleviate congestion in the bathroom when we were getting ready. The decor was charming, including handmade quilts and photographs. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast which was fresh, tasty and filling. The pool area is well maintained with plenty of lounge chairs. The pricing is reasonable. The location was central to the airport, area restaurants and Siesta Key."
