BluePearl Pet Hospital

"We had a horrendous experience yesterday (Feb. 11, 2024) at this hospital. Another hospital, University Animal ER (the hospital that saved our dog), referred us to this emergency hospital. University ER is far from our home, and because of the distance, they suggested another emergency hospital when we called them yesterday. Well, it turns out that emergency hospitals do not come equal. We brought a tiny injured burrow owl to the hospital in the morning; wildlife rescue is closed on the weekend, so we had to find other means to help the bird. The receptionist and the "doctor" were all smiles, accepting the bird and describing that they would stabilize it and call the wildlife services in the morning. Today, we were calling to see how the bird was doing - the Blue Pearl receptionist was impolite and claimed they knew nothing about the creature. We called the wildlife services, and they set up an investigation. After a while, they called us back, saying they discovered that the hospital euthanized the bird as soon as we left. The person on the phone (from the wildlife) was almost crying. My husband is incredibly upset.... and this little bird is dead because the vet clinic decided that death is much more humane than life till Monday when the proper services will open...... I mean, what sort of doctors are they???? Don't bring animals there. There are much better and more humane people in other clinics in Sarasota."
