WET PETS SRQ

"The most awkward and uncomfortable scenario of aquatic goods purchasing experience ever. I came into the store wanting to purchase fish and/or invertebrates to combat green algae in my tank. I own 2 tank which have been in use for over 6 years, both having a healthy, natural environment/ecosystems. As with any natural aquatic environment, at times algae may grow on some the synthetic plants/decor. My goal was to purchase a species to combat the algae. But all I was told was to throw everything out, bleach, and start over. I have live plants growing in one aquarium so this was not a proper solution in my opinion. I then discussed my second aquarium and I was asked the same questions over and over, offering the same answers that yes it’s an existing aquarium with a healthy environment- but the next question was have I Been ghost feeding. This is a fresh water aquarium and I explained that it has only been without fish for approximately 2 weeks, only snails currently reside in it. I stated I’ll take a few shrimp for it and a few tetras. I was told that I need at least 6 tetras so I said oKay I’ll take 6 tetras. I was then explained that I should not get any fish for it or maybe I should get a couple black angel fish (all this said to me by Danny and a woman who I assumed to be his mother). Danny would not give eye contact and communication was very limited and most communication when it occurred went through his mother (again assumption on her relations to Danny). She actually snapped at my son at one point— which I did not address because I was so perplexed of the idiocracy occurring that I just wanted to leave. Which we did at that point. Completely drained and disappointed ☹️ All I wanted was an algae solution and we left wanting to never own a fish tank again."

"If you’re looking for a place to purchase tank products and fish , this is the place to go. Danny the owner is very knowledgeable and helped me set up two tanks (55 gal. and 5 gal.) he educated me on which fish were appropriate to live together and which are not. My fish are very happy and healthy. This is my favorite pet store to buy my fish/products and I always feel well taken care of while I’m there."
