"My husband and I were patients under Dr.Willis, whom my husband and I have always have nothing but amazing things to express about him. Unfortunately, he retired and we transitioned under Dr. Denapoles. A few months ago I scheduled an appointment via the online portal a week in advance and specified my concerns in the “reason for visit” section. I added it was due to pain in my left foot due to glass. Prior to my appointment date, I made arrangements for a sitter for my 12 month old, and rearranged my work schedule. The morning of the appointment, literally in route to the doctor’s office and I get a phone call from them. It was relayed to me that “She can’t get the glass out if your foot and that I needed to go to the ER instead”. I was furious and respectfully myself to the caller. Not only the fact that my time wasn’t valued and considered, she had ample amount of time to reach out to more for further elaboration about my concerns. Highly inconvenient I get a call the day of. I stepped on glass two years prior, hubby helped get it out, I felt fine afterwards. But I still have constant pain in that area and I feel like there still maybe glass in my foot that’s trying to push its way out. I scheduled the appointment in hopes of having it at least examined, and maybe a referral for an X-ray and if applicable, have a minor procedure to remove the remaining glass. I wasn’t given that opportunity after I was referred to the ER and would likely be billed an ER visit. It’s so difficult to find a doctor who will actually listen to your concerns, and reassure your trust in them. I won’t be returning because you only have to show me once who you are."
