Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Macon

"I stayed here on my way through town. It's a nice hotel. The lobby is modern and clean. I was greeted and checked in quickly. I was upgraded to a king suite since they were out of regular king rooms. That was nice for the extra space. The room was nice, though the furniture was pretty tired. Two tvs, but I didn't use them. I noticed the many cables hanging, which is a bit sloppy, but no big deal. The lights over the bed didn't work with the switch, but there were bedside lamps. This hotel has thin walls and loud doors. It's also right in front of a railroad crossing, and you'll hear the train horn all night. Plus, there is a loud road noise. It sounded like people were drag racing. They have a nice conference room and pool area. The pool was closed for winter while I was there. Overall, I got what I paid for, plus an upgrade. Didn't get much rest, but it was a place to stay."

"Stayed here this past week for a night. I’m thankful it was just for a night and I arrived late. The room I was given smelled like a dog kennel near the sink/bathroom. There was no shampoo, the one item I don’t travel with, and the room was 71 when I arrived and when I left in the morning with the HVAC unit set on 60. I keep a digital thermometer on my bag with my laptop on it so I can insure the battery doesn’t freeze while in the car etc. Outside temp on arrival was probably 50 deg. The remote had blue painter tape holding it together which is gross as if I plan on even touching a remote in a room I’m going to clean it first and that’s not something I can easily clean. The shower leaked quite a bit of water all over the floor and it wasn’t in error of me. I do not typically eat breakfast where I stay but if I were to judge by the cleanliness of the room I wouldn’t have eaten there either. The counter staff was pleasant when I checked in. The owners and staff are likely nice folks but there is some work to be done in the room I had. I won’t stay here next time I’m in Macon."

"Excellent service from Kay at the front desk. The hotel and the room were clean. The beds were comfy, decent water pressure in the shower. Bring your own soap! The breakfast was pretty good too- eggs, some bagels, some other items, juice and coffee. And a nice breakfast area to sit in. The pool was closed unfortunately but I forgot to ask why. One thing to note: there is a train track near by so you’ll want to request a room on the opposite side of the hotel so that the noise doesn’t wake you. Overall a good experience, especially for the price. Thank guys"

"Worst Fairfield that I’ve seen. Staff was clueless on simple check in procedures. Elevator didn’t work. Internet didn’t work. They had no soap or shampoo. Breakfast was not edible- runny eggs, biscuits and sausage could be used as hockey pucks, milk was warm, juice machine was broken. Staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. No hair dryer in room. Location was fine but that was it."

"No stars for the mattress… worst ever. We really could have thrown all the bedding and towels on the floor and expected the same miserable result. Until this, I’ve come to expect a pillow top mattress and good rest staying with Fairfield Marriott. Not this stay. We heard water dripping “near” our room on an interior wall. We reported it when we checked out. The clerk at the desk wasn’t interested even as we presented a video with sound. The curtains did not darken the room and there was no way to cover the gap. To stop here had been a safety choice as we were exhausted and needed to get off of the highway. We grabbed our toiletry kit and went into rest. This is the first time not to have a blow dryer in the room. Then there was the a/c. It took hours to cool down the room. And there was no a/c running in the breakfast area though the area was warm. So, to whomever is making the decisions for this location: little things mean a lot. A comfortable mattress would have meant a huge difference and was expected- was why I chose your location. Very disappointed Platinum Member."
