"Provider is fine, but ever since they were acquired by the massive corporate group, customer service is dicey to say the least. Massive circular phone trees, not doing what staff say they will do, buck passing, snippy personnel. Look elsewhere unless you love one of the providers specifically."
"The psychiatrists seem to be good and the staff is very friendly - but getting through to talk to someone takes forever. I have spent hours on the phone trying to get through to someone for both billing questions and scheduling issues. Additionally, they charged some questionable fees on my bill - I've never before been charged so much for a simple med check-in with any other psychiatrists. I spent hours trying to get through to someone about those questionable charges and have now been waiting 2 weeks and counting to hear back from someone about those questions. From what I gather, they are now a part of a larger organization (like everything these days it seems), so there has been confusion with them routing me through Augusta instead of Savannah and then sometimes I was routed to the local office instead of the main office - all of this confusion contributed to the incredibly long time I have invested in trying to get simple questions answered. After dealing with all of this for months, I am going to look for another psychiatrist. I don't normally write reviews nor am I a very picky person about these things, but I thought I should warn anyone looking into this practice."
"Not the worst practice I've been to, which isn't saying much. I like my current psychiatrist so far (switched from another one in the same practice who was out of town). They seem to have consistent issues with scheduling though, and lost my most recent appointment causing me to go 2 weeks withdrawing from my medications while I waited on the new appointment. They have also charged me no show fees in the past for "missing" telehealth appointments where the psychiatrist never even showed up, even after waiting half an hour for her to show (appointments are 40 minutes). My previous psychiatrist in the same practice also prescribed me buspar when I was in a mental health crisis and requested fast acting anxiety medication as I had not eaten or slept in a week from constant panic attacks. She did not inform me that the medication takes about 2 weeks to start working and I had to go to the emergency room, where they had to give me 3 doses of sedatives and visatril just to finally get me to stop shaking. That being said unfortunately this is far from the worst practice I've been to. Probably better than most honestly. Wish that weren't the case but it is what it is lol."
"I’ve been seeing a counselor named Irene at LifeStance Health for 3 years. She has guided me and helped me process through some difficult issues with family and provided suggestions about boundaries and given me the power to protect myself and eliminate pain. She has also been instrumental in getting me through some of the worst depression and anxiety I’ve gone through in my life. I am very grateful for this counselor and the facility Lifestance. The women who work at the front desk are always warm and kind and keep very calm, friendly demeanors. Overall this is a place with exceptional level of care for any mental health issues. My only issue is that there is an unreasonable issue regarding missed and canceled appointments. You must give 48 hours notice of cancellation which means if you wake up sick or call the day before because you’re sick, they charge 100.00. I’ve been going weekly for three years and have had over 7 charges. Primarily from being sick or a family emergency or something unpreventsble. They won’t budge on that fee."
"This is a fantastic psychiatry place with excellent service! I’ve been going here for a few years now and I recommend Lifestance Health to anyone I know looking for psychiatry services. My psychiatrist, Dr. Alana Cox, always explores options with me when it comes to my medication and she is very explicit with what the potential risks are, even if they’re unlikely. I feel so well informed and taken care of. I first tried going to other psychiatrists in Savannah- a SCAD alumni, I have worked with Shrink Savannah as well. I went to Shrink Savannah for a couple years, and during that time tried many medications to find the right fit. When my sister started medication however, she asked for notes on my responses to the medication I’d taken. I requested it from Shrink Savannah and got back a picture of sticky note with maybe 6 or 7 words. So I decided it was time to move on. Detailed note-taking is understandably important to me, in addition to the other service I get from my psychiatrist. Dr. Cox is detailed with her notes and whenever I choose to try a new medication, she refers to these notes to see how I’ve previously been affected by similar medications. She also asks me what else is happening in my life and addresses how those things might affect my mental state, in addition to the medication I’m on. At my previous psychiatrist, I was not always given a full list of the side effects- my doctor only told me the relevant or likely ones. Dr. Cox on the other hand always lists the side effects top to bottom, even the unlikely ones. I feel better equipped to make decisions for my body in regard to my medication. I will continue visiting this psychiatrist for as long as I am in Savannah. I feel very informed, validated, and well taken care of at this facility and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a psychiatrist."
