"The absolute worst children's hospital I have ever been to. Seriously I will not take the flea off my dogs butt to this facility. They lied to me and told me they was giving my child all his medicines and they were not which caused some pretty serious issues. They did not inform that we had to order food for a patient not a guest a patient so my son went all day with out eating until I said something then they gave him some nasty stuff in a To go plate. This is only a few of the the problems I encountered during our stay. WILL NEVER GO BACK NOR WILL I EVER RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!"
"we will never ever come back to this facility ever again for any reason at all. my daughter is a single mother of 3 small children who all have seizures and unfortunately their fathers are not active in their lives. so she cares for these 3 children all on her on with no help from them. I help her when I cam but I am disabled my self and waiting to have major surgery in January. They would not let her other 2 stay with her while one was in the hospital. It didn't matter how much she told then that I was not able to run behind them for long a long period of time. they didn't care. AGAIN I WILL NEVER USE THIS FACILITY AGAIN. WORST HOSPITAL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't believe my tax dollars go to help pay for such a horrible place"
"Part 2 of review. The first one was fifteen minutes into us being in there and I told my mom she had something crawling on her knee! I had to take a picture of the dead bug I killed on the bed and google picture search it! Only to have several different pictures and articles pop up about bed bugs! We had to let them know they had bed bugs! I told Jenan and 20 minutes later nothing was done! The PA came in and I informed her and told her we wanted to leave the room. She immediately went out and asked “who is in charge?” And we were removed from the room in ten minutes. There was a guy who came down to try to talk to us as he’s handing me my discharge papers to walk out. He mentions the nurse concern that I had and before I could speak covers it with the same excuse that my child is two “and you know how they don’t like to sit still especially for things like that.” Which in return I tell him the same thing that my child couldn’t even hold her head up and she is not new to rectal temperatures! The whole reason we were sent there was because it was over 12 hours that my daughter had a pee/poop diaper and her pediatrician wanted her to have fluids! I followed up with her pediatrician immediately after who scheduled her next day appointment and sent us to another hospital to receive fluids! Then after that other hospital visit, I had to strip our clothes when we got home and all our stuff and “treat for bed bugs” per our exterminators instructions as a precaution and he had to come out and spray. This place has completely gone downhill and if you don’t have patience nor compassion you don’t need to be working in the children’s hospital!"
"I’ve tried calling this facility several times to make a report on this nurse. My main concern was having my daughter seen and given fluids before handling the nurse situation. I’ve been instructed by outside sources to just go have chatham county meet me up there to make a report on the nurse. I’ve tried not to make it public, but someone who answers the HR line messages called me back and stated she was sending it to higher up and I would receive a call back. That was days ago. I was told Michael Martin is who I needed to speak to for “their department over that nurse”. No one cares just like no one cared the day my daughter was seen, other than to try to point blame to my daughter who was so completely lethargic she couldn’t even hold her own head up! My child’s pediatrician sent us in from her appointment with her pediatrician that morning. My daughter had been over 12 hours without a wet/poop diaper. Upon arriving, they did a rectal temperature and my child laid across my lap with ME pulling her stockings down just under her butt and me unstrapping one side of her diaper, (that is all that was asked of by the gentleman doing her vitals) and she even said “that tickled” as an indication it was a weird/odd feeling. We sat and waited for a while, accompanied by her grandmother. When they called us back my daughter was so “out of it” that she could not even hold her own head up. This made me panic which lead me to ask my mother to please get a nurse. A nurse named Jenan came in followed by a PA. The PA is starting to ask me what has been happening and what brought us in. Meanwhile, Jenan starts yanking my daughters clothes off! (The nurse at the admissions desk had placed the wristband on my daughters leg.) So while I’m talking to the PA with my daughter in my arms, Jenan is yanking my daughters stockings and pulling her from my arms she is yanking so hard. Jenan turns and looks at my mother and states “thanks for trying to help” and my mom told her that my daughters wristband is there and she needs to stop yanking her by her clothes! Jenan then has attitude and starts unhooks the wristband off my daughters leg and pulls then stockings off. The PA started asking me questions again and the next thing I know my daughter is jumping and SCREAMING in pain like I’ve never heard her scream and cry before!!! I’m trying to find out what is happening because she was supposed to be doing a rectal temp and I, as well as my daughter’s pediatrician, have done rectal temps on her since she was a baby. Jenan is demanding that I roll her over and I raised my voice demanding to know why she is crying! My mom tells Jenan “you need to learn your job and stop being rough with children!” After the PA and nurse left the room my mom told me that she watched Jenan ram the thermometer into my daughters vagina. I then examined my daughter and her vagina area was completely red. I tried to show this to the next nurse Rebekah that we had and she tried to make the excuse “well sometimes two year olds move , blah, blah.” I told her how I could do a rectal on my daughter right now and she wouldn’t move, just as she didn’t for their admissions people! No one ever came in and examined my daughter! Her pediatrician did the next day and said it was very irritated and suggested a cream to order to put on her vagina, but thankfully everything was still intact on my daughter. When my daughters pediatrician went to unhook my daughters diaper my daughter immediately started crying and trying to get up! To make the “visit” even better we found two bed bugs in the room we were staying in! I have pictures of the one that I seen crawling in the bed with my daughter and I after we had sat there for an hour! (Have to make another “review” because it’s “too long”)."
"Took our almost 3 year daughter in today for an outpatient surgery. EVERY staff member, nurse, & doctor was great and went over & beyond to my make us parents & our daughter feel comfortable in a very nervous time! We’ve had a couple ER visits in the past as well & received the same excellent treatment!"
