"Best place ever! My daughter and I recently had our annual Mother/Daughter trip in Charleston. This was our first stay at 21East Battery but I hope it’s not our last! The location and views can’t be beat, the entire place was cozy and relaxing, and Julie is absolutely AMAZING!!! The scratch made quiche, the banana nut bread and the muffins…oh my!"
"This is the coolest place I've ever stayed in my life. I highly recommend. Julie was super friendly and her banana bread bunt cake was irresistible. This was the best B&B experience we've ever had and we've been to B&Bs from Key West to Gettysburg."
"My wife and I have stayed here twice now at The Quarters and we absolutely love it! Julie always takes great care of us. Couldn't ask for a better experience!"
"We loved our stay this week in the quarters of 21 East Battery. The two story accommodations were perfect for the two of us. We loved the fireplaces downstairs and upstairs in the bedroom. It was a thrill to stay in one of my favorite homes on the historic battery surrounded by the history I love to read about. And as amazing as that was my favorite part was our amazing inn keeper, Julie. Upon our arrival, she greeted us as if we were family. Even better… she found food to accommodate our gluten and dairy allergies! Talk about going above and beyond! I called to save her the trouble of providing the typical breakfast and she took the time to understand our food needs, shopped for us and had everything waiting there when we arrived! What a blessing she was to us. Thank you so much Julie. We can’t wait to return."
"We splurged a little more than we normally do to stay in a Charleston historic home and we are so glad we did. We had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living quarters and a kitchenette stocked with an assortment of breakfast items. The house is extremely clean and taken care of each day. Our Quarters had no traffic noise and was extremely quiet and restful. There is an extensive reading library but we did not find time to do any reading in our three days. The view from the piazza was outstanding. You can see Fort Sumter in the distance and clear view of the harbor. We had the extra bonus of a private parking spot in the courtyard, which made life very easy and free tickets to view the house. Make sure to view the house! It was helpful to understand the history and see how it changed over the years. The location was very walkable to the historic sites and places of interest and we caught the DASH bus to get a feel for the city. We walked everywhere and when we got tired, it was easy to find an Uber or Pedicab to take us home. We loved our time at the Market on Meeting Street. Julie, our Innkeeper, met us at the door and was all prepared for our stay. She went over recommendations and gave us advice that was very helpful. She cares for the home as if it were here own and will make your stay fantastic. If you have a hardstairs, the Quarters may not be your best choice. The stairs are really steep and you need to be careful going up and down We were fine and it was perks off a historic house. 21 East Battery does allow children or pets, the house has antiques throughout."
