Colonie East Apartments

"*READ BEFORE RENTING* (I tried not to exaggerate so that you have an honest renter's experience) Laundry: Tiny machines that don't hold much that are gross even though they were recently replaced. Standard $2 per wash and per dry. We have to stay up until 1 AM sometimes waiting for other people to finish their laundry because they are loaded after work hours and during weekends. Trash: Dumpsters fill up super-fast since they aren't emptied enough, and management complains about there being bags etc. outside of the dumpsters even though they are too full to hold anything else. Snow: Snow zones are hard to access, and cars get banged up in them from other cars hitting them. Must walk far distances through snow and ice in order to access the zones, while wearing work attire etc. Snow zones are required to park in every snowstorm. Towing: They threaten to tow you if you park under the covered area and if you stay in parking lots while there are snowstorms, however, we see people doing these things all the time without getting towed. We follow the rules and feel annoyed people get the convenience of those things while we have to go out of our way. Dogs: Dog poop is all over the grounds. I have nothing against dogs, but it smells and it's everywhere, so you have to watch where you're stepping. Humidity: We run a large dehumidifier that we have to change 3+ times a day because of how humid our apartment is. Even with windows closed all day. My fiancé's mom was shocked by the air quality since it was so wet and basement like. Her large dehumidifier doesn't have to be changed nearly as much and she lives close by in a house, so the climate isn't any different. Parking: You'll have to park your car far from apartment regularly after work hours because guests/tenants take up tons of the parking spaces. Not enough parking for number of apartments. If you can't walk far, you're screwed. Apartment Floors: They creak super loud in our 2nd story apartment and pop really loud. Sounds like an old barn floor... Mainly worried about tenants below being disturbed. Smoke: If you aren't a smoker and don't have a non-smoking apartment, you'll get smoke in your apartment throughout the day and night from other tenants around you. If you hate the smell, it's annoying. Flooding: Parts of parking lot flood 12+ inches deep during big rainstorms. Could ruin internal parts of your car potentially. Pool: Not a major thing, but the pool is geared towards children. It's 3 feet deep. Not an issue for us since we don't use it, but I'm letting people be aware of the depth. Managment: It's a hit or miss. Potholes were all over the place and were super deep. They were fixed recently but it took them a long time to fix them. Same with sidewalk lights. Things are told you late that are important. We found out things that we only found out because we called and asked. Summary: Overall, there are way better apartments for the price you pay that include washer and dryers in the units and have better parking, etc."

"My partner and I lived here for two years. Kaitlyn is the property manager and she is phenomenal! If we ever had any issues, she would address them properly and quickly! Kaitlyn, we are so lucky to have had you as our property manager! Thank you for all you do!"

"An extremely inconvenient, dirty place to live.. Maintenance is a joke Out of all places I've rented this place is the worst. Your definitely not getting what your paying for. The photos show the quality of snow removal. It's this type of quality that they do on everything. Maintenance makes the place terrible. Hopefully the bosses see the problem and fix it. Update,. Management must have seen the review and they fixed the problem. I am impressed and happy they did so. Thank you management."

"The girl in the office is great. But the apartments are trash and dirty. The grounds are full of liter and not taken care of. The air ducts are full of dirt, washing machines are disgusting. Its a last resort type of place. Definitely not worth the money. Its sick how these places can get away with this. I do not recommend, you will be disappointed. I'm counting the days till our lease runs out. It cant come quick enough. The only thing good is the young Lady who works the front desk."

"I moved into Colonie East Apartments in August 2021. From the moment I called the office to inquire about apartment availability to today, Kaitlyn has been nothing less than amazing. She’s so attentive to detail, understanding, funny and down to earth. Anything I ask for gets addressed immediately and she really knows how to make this place feel like home. Needless to say, I will definitely be renewing my lease!!"
