Reviews
"Their record keeping us horrible. They don't give you a receipt for your rent when you pay. And try to charge you late fees after the fact. Other than that I love my place."
"They appear to be landlords who understand pets are family as most ads contain "pets negotiable"! Plus I find their ads very thorough & informative in describing their rentals, it's exhausting looking for an apartment these days, but they make the search easier by providing the seeker with what you need to know right away so you can easily scan through all the ads. Unfortunately they don't seem to own any property in the suburbs, but if you're looking for an apartment west of transit I'd start with them!"
"These guys took over the building I live in a few months ago - the owner couldn't manage it himself anymore - and have been nothing but kind and helpful. Steve Kottakis, the owner, couldn't find a property management company up to his standards so he decided to start his own. He is a personable and very friendly guy, Michael is super laid back and communicates clearly, the secretaries and other workers have all been great so far. I really don't think you should be able to review a business because you refuse normal property rental processes. One guy is mad because they wanted to know he had income to pay for the apartment, another because another renter found the listing first! Anyone who complains like that about the normal process like that is %100 a first time renter. So, if you like these guys, report those one star reviews to google as "unrelated" like I did - like how are you complaining because you tell them "nuh-uh" when they want to check that you can afford the place? All property management companies do this..."
"This company will have you believe a property is still available and bring you through the last step of sending them money for a background check, then tell you the property has been rented (after you send them money). They continue to leave properties on marketing websites and continue to collect applications and money for background checks so they can make a profit on the funds they collect. All while potential applicants waste their time (and money) through the process. Save yourself the frustration and research any realtor/property management ahead of time. Nickel City Property Management is rated with 2 out of 5 stars for a reason!"
"I did everything they asked as far as financial information other than I am refusing to give them my bank statements just to view an apartment. Couldn't upload partners paystubs because they didn't come from a website. His employer cuts their own checks so there is none. All of this just to look at an apartment that I don't even know yet I want. So apparently they really don't care to rent anything out."
