"Clipper Equity has been treated both their staff and their tenants horribly. If you read this, please find another building. They tried to raise our 1 bedroom by $600 this year. This was after a year where our entire unit flooded. Our apartment was filled with raw sewage. They half cleaned the apartment and when we returned from vacation it reeked of sewage. We were dealing with the smell for over a month. Then it took four months for them to properly remove the water damage, repaint the walls, and call in a mold inspector. This is in addition to the concierge often not being available, half of the rooftop closed (since we moved in 3 years ago), and generally poor maintenance (for example it took them 6 months to change the lightbulbs in the gym and half of them were out). During our lease renewal they didnt respond to our complaints for weeks and tried to scare us into renewing our lease at $600 more a month. To be clear, the front desk staff is absolutely wonderful. But they are treated poorly by clipper equity as well."
"UPDATE (9/2023): Things have continued to downhill. Exclusively due to mismanagement. They used the pandemic as an excuse to cut down services and now continue on the same decline. The front desk has been unstaffed for the better part of the summer with actually no one sitting there at all for the past couple of weeks. The temperatures in the hallways are uncomfortably high and this is no doubt another dumb cost-saving strategy. Emails to the building manager go unanswered and communication from management is non-existent except for them to scold people and remind them about their “rules”. Truly sad how little management cares about the residents and the staff. Really consider looking elsewhere. I’ve been in this building less than 4 months and it’s already a HUGE disappointment. I agreed to move in because of promised amenities like 24/7 concierge. First we were told that concierge would no longer hold spare keys to our apartments (unlike any other concierge building in the city) and just today they announced that there will be no concierge overnight. This is unsafe. Furthermore, these are abominable management practices. STAY AWAY!"
"Clipper Equity horribly manages this building, take your business elsewhere. The one upside of this building is the day-to-day concierge and maintenance staff: they are absolutely incredible (and terribly mistreated). Despite their efforts to make the building feel like home, management is completely unresponsive and the building ends up being poorly maintained as a result of management's negligence. It got to the point that residents formed a 200-person resident's association in order to confront management in a more cohesive fashion (Facebook: Parkside Brooklyn Residents Association). Despite our efforts, management failed to address or correct our safety concerns. Please take any 5-star reviews with a grain of salt, many are posted by Clipper Equity employees or their family members in an attempt to improve their online ratings. For me, the tip-off was the 5-star reviews listed under the names of the building manager’s two French Bulldogs… her mother also happens to be an Executive VP of the building's owner/management company, Clipper Equity. (Edit: Since the original posting of this review, the dog's reviews were removed, but there are still a few 5-star reviews with the same surnames of management employees.)"
"If I could give a zero, I would! To be clear, this review is NOT for the concierge in particular, the concierge at 125 has been very polite, helpful, and the only one to lift a finger to help me. The management company is a nightmare beyond comprehension. I've been here for 2 years now, it has been one disappointment after another. It's nearly impossible to get maintenance in, can't get a human on the line to address your concerns. Considering the high rent, the service and amenities are abysmal! Now that I'm leaving, they have the audacity to charge a $500 moving fee just to drop the ball continuously. They insist on having all paperwork before even confirming a time slot (how can I schedule a moving company without approval of a move-out window?). Dealing with Parkside has been the absolute most difficult part of this whole process. I am moving tomorrow and now they are saying there's a conflict with the service elevator at the same time. I have been in talks with them about possibly downsizing into a studio for over 2 months, they have been so inconsistent, the office is always closed and even when they're open, they neglect to answer emails or return calls for days on end, just couldn't sign up for more BS! Bad business, no accountability, NOT worth the money!"
"Nice building and wonderful building staff but terrible management company. When we were considering moving here, the roof deck overlooking the park was a big reason why. Management told us that the roof deck would be ready by the end of summer 2017. It is fall 2018 and still no roof deck and current estimate is summer 2019. There are many other amenities that were promised including a dog wash station and a refrigerator/freezer for perishable deliveries. None have been delivered. Management has been extremely difficult to communicate with and in regards to amenities, they respond with blatant lies and/or provide a never-ending list of excuses"
