Reviews
"The apartments/duplex are nice. However the neighborhood is horrible. The crime(s) in Marcus Village is out of control. Non residents hang out on residents stoops, private property and the laundry rooms. I remember on night the non residents was sitting on the stoop that leads my front door. I had to say excuse me just to pass by and open my front. The noise and loud music goes until 6am every other night. The last straw for me was when a pitbull that was not on a leesh killed my cat. All of my compliants I reported to Marcus Village management and security however to know avail. This is a horrible place for anyone to live in. Im glad I finally moved out."
"Marcus Garvey is a wonderful place. They just love to twirl a lot and they are a very nice GD. The GDs there are so nice they even helped me get my groceries in my home. Pls I recommend this place"
"I live on Bristol street and there are poison ivy leaves growing in my my balcony and even coming through into my window. I’ve been complaining about this since over a month ago and still No one from meat let’s all the security office has reached out to give me any update regarding the removal of these vines. My brother tried to remove it his self but his hand immediately broke-out and turned red."
"I like it here, the people are great, but Maintenance is horrible. This global health pandemic has been very stressful on it's own and not being able to come in after a long day and just take a shower and feel clean again is a bit overwhelming. I've complained several times over the past two weeks the the water on Bristol is extremely Cold and unbearable to shower with and still there is no change. When you call the maintenance office it either goes straight to voicemail or rings out until no one answers. When you go in person, they just brush you off and tell you they'll work on it soon. And it's not that Marcus Garvey Apartments need a whole new staff of maintenance people because some are great, the problem lies with the head of maintenance. He is extremely lazy! Nothing will get better under his watch."
"My elederly mom has lived her for over 23 years and I can truly say that since the new ownership took place it looks a whole lot better. They made some renovations inside and out. My issue is when you call the office you can never get anyone. You have to go in person to complain about water leaking. I reported it over the weekend, called maintainance on Monday, Wednesday and go in person today (Thursday) and maintenance guy comes in the office doing nothing. He new I was going to complain The woman says someone will be there at 1pm it is almost 3pm and we are still waiting. This is ridiculous!! I was trying to locate a corporate office but to no avail. This is considered an emergency yet no one shows up. The apartment upstairs always has plumbing issues. They need a real plumber to fix the work correctly! I would have my mom live somewhere else to be honest, but she doesn't like change and does not want to move so I've accepted it. I had to write this honest review. I didn't not even mention the roach es and mice. I clean and bleach down the place daily. I've managed to reduce the vermin but it does not totally eliminate them. Get a cat keep the mice away and glue traps, boric acid and raoch spray for the roaches. I've killed about 6 or more waterbugs. Anyone that knows me knows I am a neat freak and germaphobe so I want my mom's environment to be clean as possible."
