"The on site team is great and does their best to keep the property safe and maintained (they're the reason this review is 2 stars and not 1). However, the management company higher-ups at Core Realty Holdings neglects the property. The security gate for the garage, which is part of the advertised amenities and a feature of the apartment common areas, has not been functioning in 10 months. Early Monday morning, the property had several vehicle break-ins and resulting damage to vehicles. You cannot break into a car you physically cannot reach, so if the gate had been functioning as promised in our lease, this would not have occurred. It's a shame because our on-site team really is great, but I would recommend taking your money to elsewhere to one of the several properties steps away before locking into a lease at the Collective. Update: 2 months later and we have seen no changes. The garage is still not repaired, there have been no cameras installed, and they never got a second courtesy officer as promised. Cars are still being broken into. I had to wait 4 weeks on repair of my shower. Save your money and stress, LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE. Update: 3 months later. The garage door is repaired but some days it remains open and not lowered. The doors to the apartment building consistently are broken allowing open access to the building. Dog poop is everywhere, constantly. People always are walking their dogs off leash in the building and courtyard and management had done nothing about it despite multiple complaints. The fire alarm issue, as many have mentioned, was incredibly disruptive. Management acts as if this was a sudden issue, but it's been consistent that the fire alarm has gone off randomly. Maintenance also walked into our apartment unannounced while I was asleep in bed, for an order that had already been finished weeks prior, and were insistent on trying to get in even though I told them to leave. Obviously, as a woman being confronted with two men, this was unsettling and made me feel unsafe. Now theyre updating the locks and "smart home" systems for the apartment. This is wild to me considering they cannot even meet the very basics of maintaining the complex, yet they think a tech update is appropriate? I've been living in apartments for 10 years, and I have never lived in one as poorly managed as this complex is."
"Don't mind the five star reviews. They waive application fees for people to write them so they're written by people that don't live here. - moved in during the summer and they wouldn't clean the pool so it couldn't pass inspection - garage door broken for months. car break-ins were frequent - wifi in the lounge hasn't worked for months - extremely loud fire alarms went off multiple times. once was 1am - 5am and we had to stay in our car - recycling rooms pile up to a gross point - dog bag stations and dog washroom gets gross - they announced a 40 dollar rent increase this week (mid-lease) which I'm fairly sure isn't legal"
"*PLEASE READ BEFORE LIVING HERE* I write this review struggling to fall asleep at nearly 4am in my truck. The fire alarms have been blaring continuously since 1am and my girlfriend and I cannot go back to our apartment to get a good night’s sleep before work in the morning. The fire department has came and went and have informed us the fire alarm system is now broken and cannot be shut off by them either. This is a perfect representation of how things have gone with this place since moving in last June. Property is disgusting and hardly cleaned, hallways smell like trash, garage seems to have never been power washed, maintenance requests take months to solve (our refrigerator filter took 4 months, I’ve heard of open requests for a simple light bulb replacement that have taken as long), my vehicle and about 15 others were broken in to due to an inoperable parking garage gate for the better part of 4-5 months, the pool was closed all but a week or two of last summer, and I could go on and on and on but you get the point. A serious culture shift is needed here to make any meaningful change at this point. Maybe if residency here gets low enough and Core Reality Holdings’ bottom line decreases a little bit they will start providing a product worth paying the price they charge? I will say the one major positive of this place is the leasing office team is very nice. They seem like they acknowledge the issues above and do the best they can with what they have but the problems seem to run much deeper than the immediate on-site staff. Do yourself a favor: if you like the area, spend the same or slightly extra on rent and live within a couple blocks of this place. I’m willing to bet you’ll have a better living experience. We’re currently counting down the days until we can leave."
"I’m here to say that the Collective is a great place to live! They have FREE coffee folks!! FREE! A green apartment complex which me and Katherine enjoy very much! We are on the 3rd floor. Staff are very helpful, Caleb the property manager responds to our emails quickly like flash ha! :) , super friendly guy, and he’s always dressed very nice! Very well kept individual! Basia is very helpful , She always stockings the gym with the supplies we need, and I see her often walking the property checking for trash most leasing won’t do this, but she does. I’ve stopped her a few times to thank her. Timothy was very nice meeting him for the 1st time too! My shower light was out and i understand maintenance has been very slow, but it was done and they were very quick doing the repair we are thankful for this. I only request extra security for the building some doors are faulty, and more pet stations. For the most part I’m am very happy with the staff and all that core has put in place for us residents. my renewal offer was very reasonable too surprising with the conditions of the current market! Keep up the great work guys!"
