Camden Ballantyne Apartments

"AVOID CAMDEN BALLANTYNE AT ALL COSTS for $1700 a month you can get a 750sqft apartment infested with roaches. You pay for pest control, but because the trash services don't pick up the trash (that you also pay for), the roaches are huge and everywhere. Staff is rude and unhelpful. They didn't care about the BLACK MOLD growing on my bathroom ceiling or in my windows (I'm sure they'll just paint over it). There's also terrible outdoor lighting and no cameras- there's posts and emails about vehicle break ins every single day. Overpriced due to the "market of surrounding area". Pick any of the surrounding apartment complexes and you're given cheaper prices, better management, and cleaner and safer communities. The price for a one bedroom at Camden is a 2 bedroom everywhere else in the surrounding areas, they're just hoping you won't notice."

"I have been living in the apartments for over an year now, I chose them more for their proximity to my workplace, not the amenities or the apartment itself. I live in a 1bedroom apartment which is spacious in the living room, but the wardrobe is extremely small(atleast in my case). The appliances are old as well as the finishing pf the apartments are rustic unless you get probably one of the new renovated apartments they are offering. The maintenance is fast and is well attended, the people in the maintenance are really good. As I live on the ground floor, I have been facing a lot of plumbing related issues, multiple times I was not able to use my toilet/bathrooms, one of the times my apartment was flooded because of the possibly a clog in their system and literally had conditions unlivable. They increased my rent claiming the market adjustment, while they did not for few other people I knew living in the community. I took it to management and tried to get it resolved and wanted them to do a little extra like maybe give a garage parking space/reserved parking space, but I was very blatantly told by the management that I SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH THEM, so I do mot get anything else, I have to suffer the consequence of whatever happens, if the apartment is unlivable claim your renters insurance and get a hotel/accommodation, they can just fix it, they cant update appliances until I leave or my lease ends and I was accepting the apartment as is when I signed my leave. To one on their own. Maybe it’s super professional to them, but I feel they lack sense of empathy and humanity. They won’t go above and beyond, to keep you happy, they are just doing their jobs."

"The price is not worth what you get. Look at the pictures of the mold I found. It's an older community that needs an extensive renovation. You're paying these prices because it's Ballantyne. The traffic has increased as well since they are building behind the Ballantyne Resort now. There are constant car break-ins as well for some reason here. Just move down the street 6 miles to Indian Land, SC. It's just as nice if not nicer in my opinion with new communities that are lower in price and also more spacious."

"I am a 27 year old and usually don’t take time to write reviews. However, for anyone in my age group thinking or even coming to Camden this is not the place. The bug infestation is out of control. They will spray every week and say the spray is pet friendly. However the roaches still return. There has been over 10 car break ins since I have lived here for 3 months. The staff does nothing to provide any sort of security element or even provide cameras to stop the theft in places they are allowed to. Glass from shattered windows is left in the parking lot until you pick it up. Your trash is not picked up everyday leading to trash being strung out around the building and the whole facility. Kids run around without supervision even during working hours while there is staff present. They just sit in the office or on golf carts. They will enter your place to change your air vents with only giving 12 hours notice. This has happened to me twice. Thank god my husky was locked up the first. Kids will look into your apartment. Bang on HVAC units and vandalize cars. I have caught them with rocks and dirt on my personal vehicle. Just to anyone in this age group or anyone in general be aware before moving in. I really strongly suggest you don’t."
