"Such a cute restaurant in midtown east! The drinks here are absolutely stunning, from the presentation to the taste. I’ve already been back for the drinks! I was disappointed in the food. Not sure if I came on an off day but most of the dishes I had were a little dry. I would be open to come back and try their dishes again someday."
"Had such a lovely dinner experience! The drinks were amazing (a particularly perfect lychee martini) with seasonal options, the restaurant was cozy with a modern yet comfortable design and the food was outstanding! Will be back to have more of the duck because it was melt in the mouth good!"
"Charoen Krung is a Midtown East Thai restaurant influenced by Bangkok’s international food hub on Charoen Krung Rd. Now it has been brought to the heart of NYC with amazing flavors. Restaurant is filled with amazing paintings and decorations painted and designed by their super friendly staffs. We ordered a few cocktails and they arrive with some drink holder that looks out of this world. Not just it looks amazing but they all taste unique and crazy. Food is simply authentic and amazing with the perfect amount of flavor. The crispy pork belly is crispy and melts right in your mouth. Pink soup is something we’ve never tasted before. Coming to Charoen Krung definitely opened our eyes to something amazing."
"This restaurant brought me right back to the streets of Bangkok (where there actually is a Charoen Krung Street). Amazing food from start to finish. The ribs were so tender—they had this curry that I’ve never seen before. The duck was perfectly cooked. The drinks are also out of this world—I feel like normally Thai iced teas are way too sweet but I was pleasantly surprised by that not being the case here. What truly stood out to me is how nice the servers and staff all were! This was a genuinely phenomenal experience from start to finish—a must try for Thai food in NYC."
"They just opened recently, so I went with a couple of friends to try it. The place isn’t that large, they have an upstairs though, but I’m not too sure if we’re allowed up there. We also came a little before dinner so there weren’t that many people and it was rainy, so the atmosphere may have been a bit strange because of that. The service is great, the servers checked up on, refilled our glasses, and were overall very accommodating. The drinks are out of this world. The presentation itself deserves a couple of pictures. The taste however, it will totally depend on your preference of drink. If you’re not used to the taste of herbs or asian fruits, it may seem a little strange. To sum it up, the drinks are very unique. The food was good as well. Some of it could use a little work, but others tasted great. We ordered a lot, so I got to try a bit of everything. It was a nice experience, definitely check it out if you’re in the area."
