"I recently booked a room at Hometown Studios by Red Roof in Raleigh, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory and marred by several issues that I feel compelled to share. Upon entering my room, I was shocked to find a significant roach infestation. These pests were not only inside my room but also in the hallways and even in the elevators. It was a distressing sight, to say the least. I immediately brought this matter to the attention of the hotel staff and requested to cancel my reservation, but my request was denied. This was particularly frustrating, given the obvious hygiene and safety concerns that these roaches posed. Throughout my brief time at the hotel, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease due to the uncleanliness and an unpleasant odor that seemed to pervade the entire establishment. As a guest, I believe that a basic level of cleanliness and hygiene should be guaranteed, and it was disheartening to see this standard neglected. Adding to my disappointment, the hotel had a strict non-refundable policy, which left me with no choice but to leave the premises to ensure my own safety and comfort. I was taken aback by the fact that they refused to accommodate my request for a refund, even in the face of such glaring issues that affected my stay. It's disconcerting that a hotel can continue to serve customers under these conditions and maintain a non-refundable policy that appears to disregard guests' well-being. My experience at Hometown Studios by Red Roof in Raleigh has left me deeply dissatisfied and concerned about their commitment to customer satisfaction, safety, and hygiene"

"Awful place, it’s not even a hotel, is more like a shelter, people live there, they smoke all kind of things, everything is super old, stained linen, the door didn’t lock, not safe at all, it’s located in a bad neighborhood. Don’t believe it’s a 2 star hotel, not at all. We didn’t stay for more than 2 minutes. After this one we stayed in a 1 star hotel that was 100 times better, a real hotel. Stay away from this place."

"WARNING: STAY AWAY!!! Manager lied and stole $200 from me. Booked three nights a month in advance. When I showed up right after check in time, I was told there were no rooms ready yet, but they checked me in anyway told me when I came back there would be one ready. I returned that night and was told there were still no rooms ready, but the front desk dude offered to go in and “strip a bed” in a dirty room so I could stay. Of course I refused and requested a refund. He got his manager Larry on the phone who said my stay was cancelled and he’d issue a refund in the morning, and it would take 5-7 business days to come through. Guess what - a week later, no refund! I called back and was gaslighted about how they never said I’d get a refund, that I refused the available rooms they had, etc. Ran it up the chain as much as I could to no results. Didn’t even refund nights 2 and 3, which I said would be acceptable. Completely ridiculous."

"This place is just BAD. I have stayed in poor hotels, but this one is probably the worst. I am always fair in my reviews, but I can't give this place any less than 1 star. The front door was loose and looks to have been broken into previously then a steel plate was screwed in to "fix" it. The room was VERY small and the "furniture" was either broken or in such bad shape. There were cobwebs in the corner of the room and dead roaches on the floor near the fridge. There was no shower curtain in the bathroom. The toilet seat was real loose. There was NO TRASHCAN! Trash was just discarded all over the parking lot and grass large bags of trash were scattered in the breezeways near the stairs. I will not stay here again and I do not recommend this place. Red Roof should be ashamed. I asked for a refund and was denied one. Pests and terrible amenities were the breaking point for me. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!"

"1) never come to this hotel hometowne studio at 5008 NC hey 55 Durham nc 27713 2)every inch everywhere full of roaches I couldn’t sleep even a single night. I notified the hotel staff but no action. Roaches are so extensive that even after spray within 2 hrs roaches one back and crawling everywhere in the room. After trying all possible steps, I decided to move out early as I couldn’t sleep or enjoy my stay. This was the worst of worst experience. Never come back to this hotel. 3) staff are nice but they don’t have the means to solve the problems. 4) I witnessed one day drug dealing but acted as if I didn’t see it. They are likely to have guns. 5) there is no security in this hotel and the hours of this hotel is very limited- could not reach anyone mostly."
