"$150 deposit is required! They don't show you this anywhere else!! We got our room and it smelled like a cheap cigar, so they put us in the spare room and the coffee carafe doesn't go all the way up to let the coffee in and there were roaches and It was low on supplies ,no hand soap, and there was ice in the sink. Morning crew was kind and helpful the evening crew was hit or miss."
"I was pleasantly surprised how lovely this hotel was. I was informed it was remodeled in the past 5 years and it showed. The staff was very helpful. Sure I would have wanted more amenities like free breakfast and a butler, but this is not the Plaza. However it was clean, the location was perfect and I felt safe. I will point out that someone's car did get their window smashed in during the night. I did not hear it , just saw the glass shattered in the parking lot. Did not bring my pup this time, but seemed very pet friendly. There was a BBQ area for the summer months, door dashed some very good food and it arrived within 30 minutes. Free laundry and decent work out room. Wi-Fi was never lagging for streaming, but make sure to keep room key away from magnets. I kept having to get a new one. Doors from the outside needed a key for entry including front lobby after 11 pm. No daily room service, but linens and towels exchanged for clean ones when asked. Stay here again... for the price I paid.... ABSOLUTELY. (stay Dec 29-Jan2)"
"Staff is pretty friendly, but no cameras and the doors leading into the hotel do not lock. So anyone can and has just walked in. The parking lot is not well lit with lots of the light burned out. In our short time there over a dozen vehicles were broken into. Whoever owns this property doesn't care for their customers safety or their vehicles. Just wants the money and is letting the hotel run down. No place in this area is safe with crime running completely unchecked and no police presence. Avoid the entire triangle area."
"I wasn’t going to post to complain but the lack of hot water tonight really did me in. It’s our third night here, and while this is the first incidence of only having lukewarm water (which is inexcusable for a $100+ night) , there are sadly several other things to report. When we arrived I noticed the toilet seat was cracked, a baseboard tile in the bathroom had blatantly fallen onto the ground, and the vinyl baseboard in the bedroom had been ripped loose and was sticking out. I mentioned these to the front desk just to be sure we wouldn’t be blamed and they weren’t deal breakers, but they just made the room seem very weathered. There was no hand soap in the room to be found — I checked all cabinets to be sure. The front desk supplied hand soap upon request. Once we showered we realized there was no body wash in the dispenser as well. When I asked for more they brought us more hand soap, an honest mistake, which we went back to rectify. The front desk staff was very kind and pleasant throughout the stay. The cupboard/pantry area was poorly stocked. There was only one freezer item available for purchase and the coffee area was frequently in need of stocking… an important point for a place with no continental breakfast. Lastly, I saw a small baby roach in the bathroom. We were on the first floor during the first cold snap of the year so I’ll be forgiving, but I will say he seemed very healthy and unaffected by pest control attempts. I see that building improvements are scheduled for next year, but this year much could be done. We recently signed up for IHG rewards because of our experience at another Candlewood but this stay was a different story. I would say you get what you pay for as this was one of the cheaper options for IHG hotels in the area, but even so you pay for more than you get here."
"We stayed at this hotel due to its location near a cousins wedding. We’d reserved online in advance or I would have taken a look at the room and stayed elsewhere. I chose Candlewood because it is a part of IHG and they usually hold their hotels to a certain standard. This hotel did Not and was very gross, I didn’t let my child touch the floors once. The floors are sticky, there was mold in the bathroom and the mugs in the kitchenette had something black growing inside them. It looks like there are ongoing renovations but they’re not well done. The light socket in our bathroom is as falling half out of the wall and is unsafe There was a group of (friendly) folks outside smoking weed almost the entire weekend. If that’s your vibe, stay here. If you have kids or a desire to stay in a clean place, stay away."
