"Great view at the end, worth the hike, plenty of shade throughout"
"Beautiful 8 mile round trip hike on part of Apalachian trail, with stunning views. If you continue for another 1/2 mile or so, there is another view along with blackberries and blue berry trees. Moderate to difficult for some."
"Amazing view! About a 4 mile hike in and out along the Appalachian trail. One main water source near the icewater shelter. I was very happy. I brought my poles for hiking."
"Charlie’s Bunion makes a perfect out and back day hike from newfound gap. It’s a fairly technical hike with lots of elevation gain, exposed roots, and loose rocks. The view is worth the effort though! 10/10 chef recommends"
"Charlie's bunion is an 8 mile moderate but rocky hike to some of the best views in the smokies. The surrounding mountains have a rocky texture to them that almost make you feel like you are out west. Make sure to bring trekking poles, wear good hiking shoes, and bring lots of water. I'd say the hardest part is the return hike where you have a steady rocky incline for around a mile. Great views most of the way and after a mile or so in, most of the tourists begin to disappear. It's a hike that is worth every step. Don't forget to make the .3 mile stop to the jump off as well."
