Reviews of Oconaluftee River Trail Trailhead
"Flat trail , dog friendly nice walk along the river."
"This was our relaxing Trail to give our legs a break between our Hiking. Nice little 3 something mile Trail with great scenery that ends at the farm and welcome center for Oconalftee River Trail."
"While it's the only Smokey Mountain trail in NC that allows dogs it's mostly will suited for it. It's wide and typically has room to maneuver dogs past each other. A few blind curves, but manageable. However, there are no trash bins at the trail head by highway 441 or along the trail. Only bin is by the visitor center area. Be ready to carry your doggos waste for a bit. Someone left fill waste bags in the brochure box at the trail head!"
"I loved this Hike, over Labor day weekend I visited 3 Hiking spots and this one was my favorite! If you love Historical places, or wanna see some Wild life at a distance this is the place! At the end of the trail is a large Museum type area with buildings built to look like what, and how settlers lived! Easy trail, with lots of nature to take in!"
"We were on a trip through the mountains and decided to stop at the park and stretch our legs. Glad we did. Spent maybe an hour or two walking trails and viewing the old farm place. Very interesting and well worth the stop. In fact, it was worth the stop just to stop, sit in the shade by that clear flowing stream listening and watching the river run for a little while."
