"Although it was muddy from rainfall and vegetation is scarce during Winter months, we've hiked here several times and enjoy the views and simplicity of this section. The only lake access is to the right and just downhill from the trailhead. This area has a small, stagnant, rain-filled quarry from many years back. There's about 3-4 miles of trails in this west section."
