"Not worth the headache. Customer service in the Charlotte office is so disappointing. If you are a designer, don't order from them bc you cant trust them to care at all about your orders for clients. They do the bare minimum and blame it all on "corporate". It's a shame because Gabby and Summer Classics make quality products but I'll never go through this nightmare again."
"We have been living in Charlotte for nearly 30 years and have shopped with Summer Classics for outdoor furniture, cushions, pillows & fabrics, and umbrellas. No more. We had a malfunction with our Treasure Garden AKZ 13 cantilever umbrella about a month ago, and went to them for advice, help, and repair referral. They sent a YouTube video that I had already consulted, referred us to United Furniture, who never called or helped, and failed to return three different calls left for the manager. One call to Viridien, our go-to fireplace store, solved the problem. Summer Classics has lost a long-time, valuable customer and advocate. Great products, but don't expect service."
"Garrett was very helpful with planning out what furniture would work best with our patio by our new pool. He recommended a painted grey teak product and we love the look and the layout but the painted teak began chipping only after owning the furniture for 6 months. We immediately contacted Summer Classics who stood by the product saying this was normal and just part of the aging process. There is no way a rough finish that leaves white paint all over your arm, clothes, bags and patio floor is part of the aging process and if it is they should be embarrassed to sell such a messy poorly designed product. I highly encourage all to not buy this product. We fought them for over six months speaking to higher level management and they stood their ground saying this was just what the product does. It would have been nice if our sales rep would have told us the finish will chip leaving white paint all over your patio and all over anything it touches. They did reimburse us for a few hundred dollars to help pay for someone to fix the problem but for us it wasn't about the money but about getting quality furniture that wasn't rough and wasn't leaving white paint everywhere. It was either take the money or get nothing and I was shocked they would put a product out there that aged this way. The sales representative should have told us what a mess painted teak is. We will never shop here again."
"I purchased a sectional sofa for my porch and was very happy with it. However the minute it was delivered we realized we needed another section and ordered it that day. It arrived about 3 weeks later with the WRONG upholstery on it. The sales person did not check to make sure the current order matched what we ordered previously. When the mistake was pointed out at delivery the sales person immediately ordered the correct upholstery. I never heard from them again. I had to call and call and finally a month later was told the fabric was discontinued and I couldn't get anymore. Since my whole sofa was only 2 months old and we hadn't used it at all, I asked to pick out new upholstery and have the company pay for it so it would all match. They turned me down. They found 2 yards of the old fabric in the back of the store that they gave me. So I was told I could pay someone to piece together fabric of various types (because 2 yards wasn't enough to cover the cushions). I am BEYOND angry at this situation. The sales person failed at several points to communicate and the manager of the store failed to negotiate a reasonable solution with me, the customer. They sure DON'T live up to their Core values of "Relentless Attention to Detail", "Integrity", and "Exceptional results". I will not shop at the Charlotte Summer Classics again and I will strongly warn all potential friends and family shoppers to BEWARE. They don't care about you at all."
"I purchased the classic wicker swivel glider, recliner, loveseat, and two ottomans along with all the cushions in March, 2017 to complete my new screened-in porch. It has been outside (under roof) since I bought it, and after a year and a half, I am completely happy with the beauty, durability, and comfort. (BTW, the cording adds a nice accent.) I initially had a minor misunderstanding concerning my purchase (which I made over the phone without personally seeing the furniture). Cathy Goodway was so understanding and made sure I was happy. I will not hesitate to buy again from this store again, even though I am in TN"
