Clothes Mentor Charlotte Arboretum

"Won’t be selling here again. Went back in November, walked in with three small bags and got told I can only sell one per day. Never had heard of a used clothing store only allowing one bag a day before. Let me remind you, mine were very small bags, ended up leaving that day. Went back in December during the holidays. I got there at 9:30 thinking they would have opened at 9 at least since kids were out of school. They opened at 10 during those few weeks. It was fine, I waited because I wanted to sell some clothes. This time I brought one trash bag. Went in, they were fast to go through it, almost too fast, they only took two things and gave me $14. I was kinda over it. Ended up going back this past week. Thinking they opened at 10 I got there at 10:30, they moved their hours to open at 11. I personally feel like 11 is a little late to open a business. Kinda ridiculous in my opinion, so I ended up waiting ANOTHER 30 mins to sell my clothes. Already annoyed, I go in with some very good clothes. All with tags on, maybe all worn once or twice and all winter. As some of those were the reasons they didn’t take them back in December. Again, a little too fast going though them. They only took three things this time for a total of $20. I guess you can’t sell things to a USED clothing store unless you have never worn them because my clothes were in perfect condition. Needless to say, I will be selling my clothes at Plato’s Closet from now on. This place is a scam. Don’t recommend at all."

"Great place to sell high end / designer brands, just don't expect to get what you'd make if you take the time to list on Poshmark, Mercari, etc. I wouldn't buy from here though. They are trying to sell one of my used Lilly Pulitzer items for twice the price I paid to buy it new!"

"I used to love going to and selling to The Clothes Mentor in uptown. Since it has closed I'm forced to come all the way to arboretum. Check their website every time before I come out here for any announcements of days that they're not buying or anything like that and this is the third time that I have come out here after checking the website in the last year and there's been some random sign taped on the door saying that they're either not buying, or they're not allowing you to bring more than one bag. A lot of people work on the weekdays and we can't not come but on Sundays that also eliminates our ability to just come in with small bags every now and again. Super disappointed, it's supposed to be a store for working women to be able to purchase and sell clothes."

"First off the staff is completely rude and not welcoming at all. The staff act like this is a chore they don’t want to do. They also only let you drop off one bag at a time. This is just sad because the people used to be really friendly, I guess it’s time for a staff change."
