Boone High Country Rentals

"BHCR gave us the keys to an apartment with a shattered window, broken glass all over the ground, bags from the previous tenants, missing blinds, broken bathroom mirror, all bathroom drains were completely clogged, and food trash everywhere. They also lied about the “housekeeping process” that they promised in their emails and charged for. It has been 6 months and they still have not replaced the window. In that span of time they have: 1. Went into my home and acted out a fake replacement. They pretended to replace the window and did nothing. They then lied to us claiming that it was replaced even though the glass was still exposed and falling. 2. Came 6 separate times just to get “measurements” of the window. Nothing ever happened after they got those measurements. 3. The property manager lied on the phone to me and claimed that the new window was ordered and was on the way. It never was. 4. Told me the new window was ordered 4 separate time but it never was. 5. Property manager would tell me that the window would arrive in “5-6” weeks. After that “5-6” weeks, she would tell me it would be another “5-6” weeks. 6. Ignored my messages about the safety concern from the broken glass that was always falling. It is obvious that the property manager does not care about her tenants and did not want to pay the price to fix the shattered window or clean the apartment. They did not check this apartment before giving us the keys and do not want to fix to their mistakes. I pay way too much for this apartment to deal with their lies. RE: It would help out greatly with communication and efficiency if you fixed our shattered window, properly checked apartments before handing over the keys, and did not lie about the housekeeping process. There were large pieces of glass from the broken window that were missing and the blinds were closed meaning that somebody knew about the broken window. We did communicate the issue to you, you were aware, yet you did nothing to fix the problem and proceeded to lie more. The pre move in emails mention the “housekeeping process” and they also state that the community rooms in apartments with roommates already living there would be the only rooms not included in the housekeeping process. 2 BHCR front desk employees also discussed the housekeeping process with us. We had to declog the drain ourselves because there is one bathroom and we could not wait days for the vendor."

"Worst & most disrespectful rental company in Boone. Property managers are unprofessional and rude. They don’t complete maintenance requests, don’t answer their phones, and don’t reply to messages. They overcharge for dirty old apartments. Save your money and rent somewhere else. I’ve rented through 5 different rental companies and this one is the worse by a stretch. If you look at their reviews, anything with 5 stars is from an employee."

"Upon moving in the paint job is awful. Paint all over my floors and up white parts of the wall. Our porch was a disaster. My Roomate did not have a shower rod nor did I have a drain. The two other girls had clogged sinks and a cracked window. One with missing blinds who cannot go to the bathroom without being seen. Our fridge was broken. The place was not clean whatsoever. Upon that it’s nice I guess. Would be better if they didn’t charge a cleaning fee when we had to do all the cleaning. Update on this place: NO WASHING MACHINE, our dryer machine does not stop which is a fire hazard. I would not be shocked if this place catches on fire due to this. Our fridge is broken. As well as no blinds yet. Maintenance has yet to come to fix any of this. The parking spots are too small causing my Roomate to not fit which ended up with her car getting towed. Manager needs to get it together because no one is going to rent here anymore unless it’s their last resort. Y’all stated in your reply that you do not charge a cleaning fee. I pulled up my lease and you charged us 70$ for a CLEANING FEE!!!!"

"I was at Forrest Edge and BHCR was the best company I ever rented from! Plus my apartment was so nice, I've missed it ever since I moved out. I've had really good private landlords and so-so experiences with other management companies, but Boone High Country Rentals provided the most services, gave me the most information, and was the easiest to communicate with if there was an issue or a question. The few times we needed maintenance, the guys were great and got us taken care of no problem. I loved that the staff actually listened to me and were willing to help with anything, I always felt like they cared and it showed!"

"Astonishingly high priced filthy apartments and there is little to communication from the leasing office. They don’t fill maintenance requests and when the maintenance person does come they leave your apartment worse than it was- broken."
