"Had a great stay in the king suite w/ the whirlpool. Everything was clean and in order when we got to our room. With the hotel being by a highway it’s a little loud at times but not bothersome. Front desk was friendly and helpful, would stay here again!"
"I've gone back and forth about my rating for this place, but there are just some items that really irritated me about this stay. First, I'll start with the fact that we stayed on New Years Day. Maybe that's why the price was a bit high. Still based on the reviews, we thought it would be a good option, and they had an indoor pool, which the kids were excited about. Upon check-in, I noticed that the front desk employee had the land line off the hook the entire time. I'm not sure why, but when I walked up to the counter, he was playing around on his cell phone, so it wasn't because he was using it. He was friendly enough, but then, after getting me all checked in, he informed me that they would require a $3.20 fee. When I inquired about the fee, he first said it was a gratuity for the housekeepers and the breakfast lady. Later, he changed the story to say it was so they would have my card on file if I trashed the room (I prepaid for the room when I booked it). Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but either way, it should be included with the $ 120+ tax I paid for the room. I travel for work and spend more nights in hotels than the average person. I've never been charged an extra fee at check-in. Yes, I almost always have to put a card on file for incidentals, but it doesn't require a charge. When I filled out the survey requested by the hotel, the manager did respond to my concerns, but in my opinion, her answers just annoyed me more. She claimed the fees were disclosed upfront and that they are used to cover housekeeping, 24/7 coffee, guest laundry, and pool maintenance. 1) Housekeeping is required and should be covered under the room reservation rate. 2) I don't drink coffee, and every hotel I've ever stayed in has a coffee maker and included coffee in the room. Guests shouldn't be charged extra for that. 3) Guest laundry is a joke. I saw the laundry machines while I was there, and to use them, you have to put in quarters to use the machine. So the few guests who use it have to pay per use anyway, but the fee makes every guest pay for it even though a very small percentage will actually use it. 4) And last but not least, pool maintenance fees on a pool that was not in service and we could not use. This was highly disappointing to my kids when we got there and went to check out to pool only to discover that it was drained and completely out of commission. They didn't mention this at check-in either. So I'm again paying maintenance fees for something that I can not even use and never will. Now, don't get me wrong, I realize the fee is small, but that doesn't make it right. All of these should be included in the cost of the room, since they change it anytime they can justify a higher price anyway. And to charge a fee that is something that has to be paid for separately to even use is dishonest and shady. The used car dealers of hotels. As if this wasn't enough, the room we were in made a loud noise every time the toilet was flushed that carried on for a minute or more. It was loud enough that it startled my wife and kids the first time it was used. It was an awfully unpleasant noise. The TP roll was mounted behind the toilet so that you had to rotate your whole body to the side and sit sideways to be able to reach it. And there was mold/mildew growing on the side of the shower wall. While the overall condition of the hotel was decent, these issues really gave me a bad impression of the hotel overall, and I would not use this hotel again if I were in the area. The breakfast was about what you would expect, but there were no spoons, and the juice machines just dispensed water instead of juice (another disappointment for my son)."
"There were 2 front desk people we interacted with during our one day stay and both were rude and unpleasant. Also, we requested blankets and pillows for the sofa bed in our room via the text that was sent asking if we needed anything shortly after check in. We never received anything and when I went to the front desk to get them, no one was there for about 30 minutes. People were waiting to check in, the phone was ringing off the hook and the lady was completely gone. The sign on the desk said she was working in the back and to knock on the housekeeping door which got no reply. The location is great, the room was fine (although I shouldn’t have had to search down pillows and blankets) but the service was horrible. I will definitely try other hotels before staying here again."
"The only good thing about this hotel is the location. From the person at the reception desk to the hallways to the rooms, everything is run down and dirty. The hotel reeks of musty mold odor. Our room was not cleaned proper prior to our entry. The carpets were stained and had bits of trash dotted through our suite. Had to ask for new set of sheets and made the bed myself because they were not cleaned properly. The pool area smells over chlorinated and the entryway into the pool smelled absolutely foul. The breakfast area was cramped and they ran out of fresh fruit, milk, and eggs. The hallways and room above us did not seem sound-proof at all; we heard people running until 3am. When we parked before checkin in, there were two people dumpster diving in the trash area that was supposed to be kept closed. The safety hygiene seal on the shampoo & conditioner were already broken, indicating prior use by the previous guests. Disgusting. We will never stay here again and we will never stay at a Country Inn and Suites brand again."
"We rented a single king bed with the hot tub in the room. The hot tub had not been cleaned, there were hairs in the bath tub. In addition, the woman working the front desk was not very polite, and unapproachable. We ordered a pizza too be delivered to our room, and I guess the lady at front desk wouldn't let her deliver it to our room, because she called our room and I had to go down and get it. Overall, the hotel is pretty nice for the price, but the overall service lacks."
