"Wild Knox Park. Near Downtown West. Bit hard to find. Steep trails. Not so big. Nice trinkets and bench. Go to this entrance, easier to access: 5930 Lyons View Pike Knoxville, TN 37919."
"Reminiscent of the old woods behind my house when I was growing up in Nashville. There's even ruins of an old "fort." You don't have to walk far to wind up in someone's back yard. Not much more than footpaths in the invasive (english ivy, winter creeper, honeysuckle, privet) undergrowth. Not very well maintained as there are no steps (as shown in another reviewer's photos). Not much used as I ran into a lot of spiderwebs. The terrain isn't really amenable to construction with some steep parts along the path. There are a few big trees maybe as much as 100 years old."
"A company wanted to build a high density low income apartment complex here in the mid 90s, so the neighborhood voted to annex into the city to enforce zoning laws for this area."
